Title: Use a Tor hidden service as trusted node?
Post by: Diapolo on August 30, 2013, 05:08:21 PM
Should it be possible? I tried it, but it didn't work.
Setup your app to use a Tor hs (.onion address) running on my computer, but got no connection.
My computer is reachable if I don't configure it to use Tor and add my external IP as trusted node.

Are you sure it's working? BW doesn't support Tor.

I guess I have an explanation, I use a rooted phone with Orbot installed in transparent proxying mode.
When entering my main-nodes .onion address into BW Orbot is most likely handling the address translation.
Switching into the BW network monitor doesn't show a .onion address but a normal IPv4 one.

Does that make sense now?
