Title: Ways to Get Bitcoins (Without Purchasing Them!) Post by: laptopdude90 on August 30, 2013, 05:33:59 PM Hi, I'm in need of some bitcoins, but I'm looking for ways to get them that doesn't involve spending money. At the moment, I only get bitcoins by mining, but that is going WAY to slow. I've been mining for months on my PC, and I just spent BTC0.48 on a USB ASICMiner. I realize it will take me 5 months just to buy another one. Is there another way, or should I just wait?

I don't gurantee you'll make bitcoins any quicker, but that is your option besides mining or begging.

If anybody's willing to start a business with me, I'd love to. I have experience with programming iOS apps, I also run a hosting company so I have servers available.

Mow yards, sell services, get money, then buy bitcoin with that. If you sell your services for Bitcoin only, your missing out on the 99% of ppl who use cash. I think you would be better off starting off by selling things on sites like bitmit, offering services developing IOS apps could be one you specialise in. What about starting a bitcoin pool? I could use pushpool and a frontend like simplecoin, as I have access to lots of RAM. I'd have fees of 0.5%. Is there any problems with this, or should I go ahead? Post by: nobbynobbynoob on August 31, 2013, 12:46:05 AM I remember aeons ago wondering how to get more bitcoin than what I already had (which wasn't that much, and no, I didn't go blow it all on SR, LOL). I discovered that a profitable ploy was to hop onto BTC-e (http://btc-e.com/) and speculate on the exchange rates with altcoins. But that's not for everyone I guess.

If you sell your services for Bitcoin only, your missing out on the 99% of ppl who use cash. you can also look into being your towns point of contact for bitcoin, do local meetups, offer shops the ability to swap bitcoins they receive for FIAT (you buy the bitcoin fro them. design the service so that the bitcoin price your API sends to the local merchant ensures the FIAT they receive is 100% what they ask. this will get merchants onboard easily. then when bitcoin is a massive thing that loads of places accept you can adjust the prices the opposit way. at the moment its bitcoin users screaming out for ways to spend bitcoin, so the demand is on the user, meaning they should pay the premium. not the merchant.
