Post by: frankenmint on August 30, 2013, 06:57:33 PM
Hello Guys,

Here is my detailed data analysis as to why bitcoin WILL hit this price today:

http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2013/08/litecoin/  - LTC now gaining awareness which will push new mainstream entrants to learn of BTC as well.

The recent legal ruling involving the guy who was running a ponzi scheme where the judge ruled 'bitcoin is a currency'.

Bitcoin foundation is now working with Regulators.

Political Turmoil in Syria is causing people to dump their money into a digital format that can be transferred across countries.

USA TODAY, MARKET WATCH had prominent articles regarding bitcoin this week.

Maximum PC released a 6 page magazine article related to our favorite Cryptocoin last week.

Bitcoin Monetization for blogs has now been announced - http://techcrunch.com/2013/08/30/bitmonet-monetizes-your-blog-through-the-power-of-bitcoin/

I have seen bigger news announcements in the past and they may have influence the price a bit but I think $190 is a stretch.  I would not complain though.  ;)

Today?

Irrational exuberance. We're due for a correction.

A great day? A big rise today?  Sure.....but $190 ?  Not gonna happen. That's a 40% gain or so in a day; that's highly, highly unlikely.

i hope the cash withdrawal issues at gox remain for a few more years.

Irrational exuberance. We're due for a correction.

Problem: Bitcoin does not go down very easily (no large shorting mechanism available). It goes up, unless there is panic. I see no panic, and cab drivers are not telling me about Bitcoin so no irrational exuberance either.

It's against my emotions, but the trend is clear. Be there or be square..

No one knows when it will happen, today, tomorrow, next week - but it could happen any time. The asksum on Gox has been dropping steadily since the withdrawal problems became. There's currently only ~24k btc for sale under $190 on Gox. There was over 24k of volume in just a few minutes this morning.

The caveat is that when it happens, it will likely be a much less accurate reflection of the current value of Bitcoin, even less than now.

I think we'll see $200 on gox in 2 weeks and then it'll be interesting to see if everyone freaks out and panic sells like they did back in April. I'm ready to pounce on that if it goes there.

On another note, virtual currency is gaining interest and my technical brief at my company on the topic gained the most interest over every other topic. It's not a cab driver level yet, but slowly getting there.

many will panic sell, but those who stay calm and hold will
reap the fruits of their coins

There has been a constant stream of increasingly good news for a long time now. The amount of disgruntled people who got burned steadily decreases with rising price. Investment in ASICs become less attractive for coin-acquisition purposes and pretty old highs are being broken. Some bears are extremely pissed.

I haven't been more bullish than today in a long time.

Edit: Oh, and the exchange rate is in a healthy rise... No better ad to be had.
