The “petro” isn’t even a cryptocurrency, it’s a glorified commodity pegged token. This is very likely a pump and dump scheme by the cash starved Venezuelan government. They're using the same technique that we’ve seen companies use by throwing the name “crypto” or “blockchain” onto everything they can in order to get a quick capital infusion (Kodakcoin, Long Island Tea name change to Long Island Blockchain, etc.).
