Title: Will bitcoin ever fail? or is it here to stay?
Post by: bitcoinburst on January 31, 2018, 08:05:43 AM
Many people might be wondering if the bitcoin bubble will ever burst or if that might never happen.
There could be many Nostradamus predicting either way, so here is a web page to show a nice summary of the most popular predictions.

In my opinion, block chain will surely stay in many fields (voting, banking, ...) but I am still not sure about the BTC coins themselves. I feel like the value of a currency should be backed by a government (justice, laws) and the value of gold comes from its unique properties that are impossible to replicate, unlike bitcoin which can have different sorts of forks and alternatives. If a cryptocurrency or cryptogold is adopted wouldn't governments want to start a new coin variant from the scratch to avoid making only a few rich and breakin the status quo?

What do you think?

I won't go as far as saying Bitcoin can never fail but the underlying technology of distributed ledgers and how consensus is achieved through mining, POW, and everything else that is hear to stay. Bitcoin may not be the currency, but there will be a currency for the world mark my words.
