Title: Realcoin.net - New site showing transactions and their value in real items
Post by: OneHP on July 13, 2011, 04:57:26 PM
I've put together this small site with the purpose of spreading the word of Bitcoin.

You could show it to your friends and family to give them an appreciation of the amount of money people are putting through the system.

Technical stuff:

I originally wanted to pull transactions from the network at large but after investigation decided that I didn't have the time to look into adapting the libraries (Java based) that I had found. The site pulls transactions from MtGox at the moment, but if anyone knows of a decent web-based API I can query for transactions from the latest block I'd prefer to move to that.

Good idea, thanks for the feedback. I was thinking links first, I worked out my items from Amazon so that would be feasible in the short term. Pictures could come later providing I've got some time to spend.
