A long standing dream of mine was finally witnessed today, as Dashingriddler covered the meetup bill with his shiny VISA card from Bitcurex. That was one of the first Bitcoin transactions in a reputed place. Although it was through VISA, this is definitely on the milestone map for us in India.

Awesome.! How does that bitcurex visa card work.?
Can we fund bitstamp using that.? Can anyone point me to the post / thread where i can get more info.

You need a CVV number as well, but I will have it hidden.

eur.bitcurex.com is the site where i exchanged bitcoins to EUR.
Purchased bitcurex card from bitmit.net .Go for EUR card only and not for USD card if you are willing to purchase while you in India. Else u will lose 3-4% extra for conversion charges from EUR to USD and then to INR.
Bitcurex card comes with associated reference number which you need to use as bank account IBAN and withdraw your EUR on their website to your bank account (which basically is your card).
Boom ! Usually in 1 working day, the withdrawal will complete and you can go out for shopping :)
So easy to use bitcoins to shop around. This card is completely anonymous and can be used for both online and offline transactions.

Drawbacks: The exchange rate at eur.bitcurex.com is not that good for sellers as there are not many buyers there for order matching to occur. If you want to buy bitcoins, you will get it lot cheaper than mtgox though. Once this becomes a bit more popular, we can definitely get competitive rate for selling bitcoins. Else this is a perfect way to carry card around and spend.

I did overhear dashingriddler say that he is giving a card and a Physical coin free to the first few people who buy 10 shares in Coinmonk.

Am I correct about that?  ;D

Amazon.com doesn't require CVV. Better change that card before someone misuses it
