@moderators. I love reading, speculating and commenting about the news on everything in the cryptospace. But the altcoin subforum has become so full of low quality threads, and it has become so hard to discuss about important altcoin news events.

Can we have a press subforum for altcoins? Thank you.

Same as that we have under the bitcoin discussion, a thread under altcoin discussion for the information sharing that is available in different news portals rather than the self circulated articles will give better understanding about market of each altcoins as well the advancement taking place with it in terms of market acceptance and other activities.

No. That section would then just be spammed by both alt coin shills and farmer/sig spammer bots looking to easily rank up/earn. Staff are already overwhelmingly in favour of locking/archiving the main Press board because it has now become redundant and is just abused by spammers and bots posting anything even vaguely crypto related. It served its purpose long ago so should be retired especially as any decent article can just be discussed in the main sub (as they already often are).

You're just going to get a board that will still be flooded with low quality threads, probably by altcoin developers trying to promote their coin. Even if there were a new subforum called the press, people will just copy paste (biased) articles onto it, in an attempt to gain free publicity.

Will that be an improvement over altcoin discussions/announcements? Probably not if you think about it.

Hilairous has said this, and I agree: there are plenty of discussions going on in altcoin discussions, if you don't see a thread you can create a thread of the topic that you want to see opinions on. No point having a new subforum.

I do not think it's a solution, there must be a pretty strong action. One that has been applied nowadays is merit, I think it has been very helpful to improve the forums of the many spammers. With the system I think we do not need a new subforum, it's all enough and we live to see the results of the implementation that has been done about a week ago.
