Title: RX 550 hashrates
Post by: Branko on February 01, 2018, 10:30:08 AM
Since theres serious shortage of more powerful cards, maybe it would be good diea to check what
are these cards able to do. I guess cryptonight algo is main contender here. Sadly, I don't have any,
so someone else will have to come up with numbers :)

I picked one up just to play with it.

MSI Aero ITX Radeon RX550 4GB OC edition  (there is NO 6-pin power connector on the card - just FYI)

I have not tried anything with the bios yet.

Here are some screenshots of what its doing:

You can expect the same performance like 1050Ti. 12mhs upto 15mhs if your lucky. power draw is also 75watts same with 1050ti.

investment wise, its cheap and faster roi but required more other PC peripherals to power a 12 - 13 Rx550.

If you can wait for 2-3 weeks more the manufacturers and suppliers will start shipping the bulk GPU fresh from the factory.

I guess its the ultimate cryptonight card...aside of not been practical (you need 4 them to reach Vega
performance, or two to erach RX580), its even cheaper (here you can buy 5 RX550s for one RX580)

What is your model/memory brand of theses cards ? I found gigabyte and xfx brands here but I don't know what will be better to do this mod.

I get the same results with my 18 ASUS RX 550 4GB cards, but I got all my card for less than $100.

These numbers seems really high for me, the cryptonight ones atleast. i would guess it gives around 350 - 400 H/s on cryptonightv7. Its highly effective but a god damn mess to connect if you got many cards, as it has no 6 pin connector.

Serious shortage of more powerful cards? The shit has hit the fan and local markets have started flooding with 2nd hand mining rigs and individual mining GPUs.

I don't see how you can't find a good deal on used cards. It just take a little time and effort.

hashrate for CN is solid for the price, but you need a ton of them to make any dent

I think there is no CN V7 / heavy miner for those Cards anymore. But for the Price they had a nice hashrate.

I have this exact issue. MSI Aero ITX 4gb. Can't get them stable unless completely stock and one thread on XMR stak. I've tried afterburner and OverdriveNtool for overclocking. Sucks being stuck at 250h/s.

Has anyone got the MSI Aero ITX 4gb with hynix to get even close to 400h/s stable?

Yeah, I have a pile of these cards, too.  I've got them around 360 on CN-v7....trying to push towards 400.  If I can even get close, I'll share my bios.  Every other 550 I have, especially the 2GB cards are 425-460 all day long.....

Cool, I think hiveOS also supports Avermore which should get you 25% more.

https://pool.virtopia.ca/connect.html

That is one of the better pools to mine on they're not huge but payouts are decent and as soon as the blocks confirm.
You can grab a wallet here:

https://github.com/MSFTserver/RavenCoin-Wallet-With-Miners/tree/master/Wallet

If Avermore isn't native to hiveOS you can import the miner form here:

https://github.com/brian112358/avermore-miner/releases/tag/v1.4.1

Please do share some results.

Today we are going to focus on the cards just below the mining sweet spot and that would be the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and the AMD Radeon RX560/550 series cards.  These cards are the models right below the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and AMD Radeon RX 570, which are highly coveted by miners.
