I know for years that there is a Reddit user by the name /user/JackTheKing. This guy (or girl) is not me. I do have Reddit account (another name) but I don't use it as often as on Bitcointalk.

I remember checking his (let's assume this person is Male) Reddit page a few years back and he is not that active. Today, out of curiosity, I visited his page again and to my surprise he is quite active.

I'm not that angry (or jealous) or whatever. I just hope that no one (especially my real life friends) will think that /user/JackTheKing is the jacktheking on Bitcointalk.

So to others who build up an online identity, how do you feel when someone have the same "online-name" as you, on a different network?

Oh! And by any chance, if the person who is reading this is /user/JackTheKing, I want to say that both of us is very good and creative at choosing name. Cheer! :).

I wonder... does this fall into the category of "googling oneself"? Or typing your own name into Facebook and realising your not the only John Smith?

I know,  I know :) A pseudonym or online handle is a little different to ur IRL name but I guess for me - I tend to use variations of my name all over the place so I have some consistency across the channels - but none at the same time. So basically it wouldn't worry me. I'm me and anyone parading as me would find I have no friends, no life, and wouldn't be worth shadowing in any way lol. 

If anyone was worried about being misrepresented though, perhaps you could use something else as an identifier like a unique avatar (if available) or signature or something maybe??

Or change your account name to I_am_the_real______ - that always makes me lol seeing those :) hehe.

While I can't speak for my kindred kits, I kinda like it. It keeps people guessing about me. After all, it simply doesn't do for a fox to be easily tracked. Though it is annoying to have to come up with another name on sites that one of the other Foxpups has already claimed.

This is an important question to a strictly pseudonymous personage.

For various reasons, I have long fancied the nym “nullius”.  So much so, indeed, that I failed to perform even the most basic checks before investing myself in it.  Usually, I do not make that mistake; and it’s a shame I did so here.  I am the nym expert!  I have a special aptitude for divining unique names.  Why didn’t I use it?

Here and in a few other places, I am nullius.  On Github, I am “nym-zone (https://github.com/nym-zone)” due to a name collision.  I’m not (yet?) on Reddit; but there is evidently a Reddit “nullius” who is not me.  The Nullii seem to be a prolific clan of nobodies.

I was lucky to snap up the domain “nym.zone”.  That will be perfect for the privacy and security services I plan to start, and for my future homepage in the.nym.zone.  For now, it provides me a spiffy e-mail address, nullius@nym.zone.  But that’s under control of a centralized naming authority.

Ultimately, my identity is 0xC2E91CD74A4C57A105F6C21B5A00591B2F307E0C (https://sks-keyservers.net/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xC2E91CD74A4C57A105F6C21B5A00591B2F307E0C).  (Well—ultimately, or else until PGP gets Ed448-Goldilocks or I cook up something with Lamport signatures.)  It is the one identity which is both globally unique and fully under my control.

I've stated for some time that I only use "Vod" on this forum.  I don't use it in any other forums, so a Vod over there is not me.  :)

There is possibility once you become famous in forums for your knowledgeable discussions , someone become your fan and adopt your " username " .. same like people are using Avatars of there favorite personalities.

People can get fascinated with anything or anyone. I guess it makes you feel good , something good u are doing.

my feelings are ordinary, because having an online identity is not new. I just hope for those who have an online identity should be proud of themselves.

Maybe the problem there is that kind of Off-topic "shitty" post where the people get in, throw the first 2 words that came to their mouth and run for the next "shitty" post... to have some activity
My own history with this new profile looks quite similar to him... and if you track in every new history for every new member (more if is not an English speaking one) for sure you can find similarities...

Is important to post interesting and quality post and comments... and not the low and shitty ones, but -in my opinion, that I´m sharing right now- Is important to give to others the right example, with our activity, and not answer with the same shit.
