I just got the new single by mail, opened and set it up (just installed the driver, setup the easyminer) and now I'm mining around 55 Ghash/s. Is it because some of my chips are faulty? The system is saying the temperature is around 73 degree celsius which is kinda a lot. Is there a way to improve the performace? Should I use cgminer instead of easyminer? Any tweaks/hacks that I should know about? I guess opening the case could help it a bit, but there are weird screws which I don't have at home... When it's done with it's self-test, hook it up to your computer and start mining.
2) Move it to a cooler location. Mine's running at 61C right now, and a solid 60.22GH/s. I also have an AC blowing directly into it. They aren't as temperature sensitive as the old FPGA Singles, but temperature does matter. 2.5) If you can't get it to a cooler location, then yes, open it up and run it outside of the case. If you're going to do that, be sure to rotate the heatsink fans to blow down, rather than up. 3) Try switching to CGMiner. It takes about 20 seconds to swap the driver, and then CGMiner will automatically pick it up and work with it. CGMiner uses a different driver for the USB devices. Look at the README and the ASIC-README for more info. Like I said, it's a matter of taking 20 seconds to replace the driver, and then CGMiner works great. |
