Dumping all because of bitcoin, a lot of negative news the past week, and binance not servicing china.

I've read that: India, Korea, and China. But, it will go back, I know.

Two things:

First, you can make a lot of money by being a contrarian.  Never believe the hype, figure out for yourself if it is a good time to sell.  If the underlying fundamentals have not changed, then a large downturn may be a buying opportunity.  Never sell on fear, sell on data.

Second, for bitcoin specifically, the news always calls a crash on a dip, and a bubble on a high.  I don't think bitcoin is a bubble yet because it has not reached mass adoption.  There are lots of things to look at but that is the big one.  Long term will there be more people buying bitcoins?  I think so, so I am not worried about the down turn.

If you don't think this is the case, then maybe it is a good time to sell.  But I suggest you try to prove it!  If you can't prove your case then it might be based on emotion rather than data.

Wah! This is great! As a rookie, I need that kind of explanation --- conclusion.

Crypto in general just lost a whole lot of new people/money.  These weak hands were needed to grow the market.  Lets hope we haven’t lost them for good and hopefully more investors will come.  I can tell you this crash has really hurt cryptos reputation amongst average folk

Problem is that corrections like this will put a lot of people off crypto in future. As there is so many more people in this than ever was before, if a bounce doesn't happen soon it could be very detrimental to the whole crypto scene as one bitten twice shy and on a world scale it has the potential to ruin or severely hinder the future of the crypto world. If retail investors are lost then institutions have no one to make money off. They could be overcooking this one a lot more than they notice.

correction my ass. if you look at the buy and sale orders of btc on gdax right now someone is manipulating the price. correct me if im wrong.

Me too, I am also thinking of this. Whales are making their moves, they are manipulating the price now. I hope btc will not go down dip. This will surely affects most of us emotionally. I am still positive and hoping that all cryptos will recover in march. Don't lose hope.

At present, bitcoin is facing overbought correction trend. As markets deepen their understanding of blockchain technology, up to 2025, 10% of global GDP will be stored using blockchain technology. Perhaps in 10 years, bitcoin will become the "more mainstream" currency.

If there is a dip there will be a increase, so don't be panicked by the current situation, when we see the price we may sometimes lose hope by the huge downtrend, we don't question and believe blindly in bitcoin when the price rises, the same mentality should be possessed by us at this instance and we have to believe it firmly sure there will be bright future very near.

This drop is only cycle in crypto and btc,altcoins are good in this situation just hold your coins and prepare yourself to lose or to earn big that's crypto you need to take risk here so leave if your scared.I think for more work in some way not like in trading that you can lose your investing.

I have face this trouble in my live when I choose to participated at bitcoin and the situation  where the bitcoin dump in the low price for me is usually moment when the bitcoin sometime in the high and sometime in the down Nothing for to worried about bitcoin value right now, I know bitcoin touch the down price to $10000 bitcoin and is not be to worried because bitcoin value will be up again in the high price someday in next month.

You will see the prices of Bitcoin going down only for at least a week. Actually, budget was announced in India and it is being reported that Indian government is going to stop all Bitcoin related activities in India.

I disagree mainly because you used the word altcoin :)

altcoins are pump and dumps and what they are in is a dump not a correction. and as you can see there are still altcoins that are getting pumped. for example DigixDao got pumped huge today for no reason so you can't speak generally.

as for bitcoin it is not a correction anymore. it is a big dump probably because of panic. the correction ended weeks ago above $10k and as we all witnessed the support level at $10k was huge.

yes I think this article is great for many beginners, basically. any decline will definitely happen in the trade. it's about speculation and knowledge. you have to be prepared with what happens to the market. now is the best time to turn things around and buy some cheap altcoin and bitcoin.

Now there is not the biggest correction for bitcoin. They were much worse. And I see no reason to worry, only the opportunity to buy at a low price and wait for growth. The main thing is to be calm!

There was already a correction in January.

Newbies should learn on this great article, don't just believe on a FUD you might loss the money you have. If you bought your holdings at a higher price then you should be more patience for now corrections is real but don't worry because everything will be back to normal.

Naturally the events in these Asian countries had the greatest impact on the market and on the prices of Bitcoin and altcoins.  That is why I cannot consider this fall a correction. Stabilization will come very soon, and now only the patient ones will be in profit.

I feel that it's not over yet, there is still a while to go in order for the price to fully correct itself. People are still wanting to make money off of Altcoins.

The decline in Bitcoin and Ethereum has led to the fall of all other cryptos. And now that the market is showing signs of recovery, it is unlikely that Bitcoin will rebind as strongly as the sentiment of investors has shifted to investing in altcoins and ICOs instead invest in Bitcoin only.

Yay, but how long they will be corrected? That's the biggest question you need to answer :)

To a newbie like me, how can we tell someone is manipulating the price by looking at buy and sell orders? What are the signs? Also, how would someone be able to manipulate prices? Is that really possible?
