Title: Btc future value
Post by: btc1 on September 02, 2013, 06:21:41 PM
Hi all

I was just thinking with btc getting stable now
an many people a now becoming aware off btc

My theory is that 1 btc will be the same price as a once off GOLD
Once the full 22 million coins a in the market, an mining is capped.

An I also think lite coin will become the silver.

Don't invest all your money into btc it's just a theory.

Regards

Btc1

BTC price is not stable now.

That's a matter of opinion, I don't disagree, but you're not providing any backup for your theory.

I agree - not stable yet. Have you ever tried to order anything over $1000? It's nerve racking, because you have no idea if the price is going to drop the second you try to make the purchase.

I wouldn't be surprised if BTC is $1000+ next year

BTC is anything but stable...however if you look at the big picture it just goes up with time

LTC price might go up or down. Do not invest something you can't afford to lose.

There are a heap of variables to consider when looking to invest in Bitcoin. It is potentially one of the most volatile and risky ventures one can set their sights on as an investor.

Just a few tips from a guy who had been trading on Mt. Gox and some other popular exchanges for around 6 months:

- Don't jump in all at once, this can lead to uncertainty in your investment and you may end up selling at a loss in a haste to save your cash.
- Try trading with some Bitcoin you have acquired for free (there are hundreds of sites that offer very small amounts of free Bitcoin) to get a feel for the market and help yourself get used to fluctuations
- If you are wanting to go short-term to start off with and make some small trades the Bitcoin Live Chart by Clark Moody will be your best friend. You can watch in real time how prices react to peoples bids and asks for x-amount of BTC.
- This one is possibly the most important: Don't be afraid, big money is only made quickly through large risk.

Hope I could help  :)

The stability of Bitcoin value will get better the more daily transactions that happen,  today there are only tens of thousand transactions a day, next year this may increase to millions or even billions of transactions per day, so each transaction has less affect on the price (that's my opinion anyway).

I wonder if a profit can be made by having a million dollars worth of bitcoin and then making a single two million dollar purchase, then selling the whole bunch a short time later...

Anyone have 3 million dollars I can borrow for a few days ?

Actually, no. No. It won't. The max # of transactions the protocol can handle is 7 per second. So about 600000 per day.

That's interesting, so the limit is 10x what it is today, what will happen when we constantly hit the 600,000 limit ?

There'll be a whole lot of "fucking told you so", also "The foundation and the developers should have solved this before" as well as "The foundation and the developers should keep their hands off of our bitcoins", sometimes both from the same persons, as well as "The solution is obvious, just buy less stuff" and "The solution is obvious, we need a zillion altcoins to do the job bitcoin is not doing".

Also sad faces.
