They do have a great poker software client just lack of players hopefully with proper marketing and word of mouth within a few months they will catch on as a serious contender in the poker market.

I would just like to second the comments there.

I would encourage players that like the site to actively promote it in other forums and by word of mouth to other players. In some of the most popular forums I cannot mention the site without first setting up a dedicated software thread. This is expensive and that money would be better spent on freerolls. Rake and entry fees on the site are low, deposits and withdrawals are fast, a perfect combination for grinding poker.

In the meantime, there will continue to be small stakes freeroll tournaments during the week so feel free to log in and check what's coming up.

All of the games are available at all stakes, if anyone has a favourite game & stakes that's not offered please mention. The same goes for tournaments. Fast structure, slow structure, deep or shallow, any game. New tournaments definitions can be quickly configured and made available.

The software is continuously being improved with weekly software upgrades and website updates. As an example, check out the new visuals on the Chinese & Open Face Chinese tables. It's a great action game and not many sites offer it.

Wow, that looks really nice.

Maybe you could add some more screenshots to the first post to show off how good the software looks?

When I read your previous thread I was completely surprised after downloading the client.  It wasn't at all what I was expecting.  I honestly almost didn't even bother checking it out assuming it was another basic Poker Mavens site.

And maybe list some of the features that make your site different/better like:

  • Re-sizeable tables
  • Preferred seating
  • Customizable table/card colors
  • Late registration
  • Synchronized breaks
  • Tournament lobbies
  • Lightning fast software
  • Chinese Poker

Just a quick reminder that the nightly freeroll is starting in a couple of hours, 7.30pm ET. Try it out if you haven't already.

Maybe it was me being naive but I thought that pretty much all poker clients would have the above features and that these features are nothing to trumpet about. The capabilities of the client are described in some detail on the website already under the SOFTWARE menu. The website could do with some more up to date client snapshots and these will go in over the next few days. Thx for the feedback :)

There will also be a software upgrade in the next couple of days. These are generally unannounced as the process only takes minutes but a quiet time will be selected for this.

The Open Face Chinese tables seem to be getting some action. Please spread the word around that these games are available here :)

If you're someone coming from the traditional poker sites then that's true.  But it's not true for the current bitcoin poker sites.  Your client is so far ahead of the others.  It has all of the features that bitcoin players have been asking for, so I think it's something that would be a good idea to advertise.

Plus, it's just a really good looking site in general.  I've played on dozens of sites from big to small over the last ten years and this one still compares very well.

I hate giving unsolicited advice but I really like the site so far and want to see it do well.  I saw the screenshots on the website but I think it might help if you added a couple in this thread so people know that it's worth going to the website and downloading.

I'm sure that the new ones you are adding will be better but I just took a few to post for now:

Nice! thx for putting these up. Ideal would be a sticky topic with various screenshots where people at a glance could check out the look of a site without having to scroll through posts :)

A Note on the Nightly Freerolls

Some players are entering the freerolls but not playing a hand and not being logged in at all while they are running. Given that the freerolls are relatively deep stack (2000 chips) and with a slow 10 minute clock, its is possible to last a long time just sitting out. Indeed some people have cashed while sitting out for the entire tournament. Winnings to date will be honoured, but from today onwards, if a player doesn't participate actively in the freeroll then they will not be eligible for a payout. What constitutes active participation is open to debate but to date players either don't show up at all or else play from the beginning. All games are logged so it's possible to see quickly the level of participation. I will be fair on this.

Regular tournaments are unaffected as once a player has paid the buy in they are entitled to play as they please, but sitting out to cash is against the spirit of freerolls.

Maybe the structure needs to be changed with antes coming in earlier and with a shorter clock, but the idea is to provide a good tournament with plenty of play, and give people a chance to build a bankroll while trying out the software. I'm not sure what the general solution is to this type of activity. Feedback welcome :)

More promotions will be coming soon...

I have a problem up here.
I installed, made a new account, login, but fails login.
I upgraded to the newer version and still doesn't login.
I thinked it was maybe the wrong password but not even the recover worked.
It keep saying offline everywhere, any server it could connect just fails... is it me or what?

Edit: it says "poor 0%" for every server up there.

The Poker Network Status dialog should say Very Good for most if not all servers..

http://www.gridpoker.eu\images\temp\net_status.jpg

The lobby will display a green 'Online' status button when connected.

http://www.gridpoker.eu\images\temp\status.jpg

You may have been experiencing INet issues.

In any case, a software issue has appeared over the last few days. Since moving out of testing and into a live environment, there is a tendency for players to stayed logged in for long periods, sometimes for multiple days. If there is a software upgrade, an already running client will reconnect automatically to the servers once the s/w upgrade has completed, but because they are not re-running the client, the check for client updates on startup is not carried out. Hence, an out of date client can still connect to the servers. With any change in protocol, this can cause problems in the server, and this has happened a couple of times. The next client s/w upgrade will perform a sync with the server on connection/reconnection and will exit if there has been a server upgrade. Running the client again will pick up the new updated software.

I believe this may have caused the issue you experienced. The servers are now running normally, so please try again to log in. You may need to recreate the account as the server has no record of a user id of FanEagle if that is what you used. Probably the server was offline all the time. Offline status is displayed as a red Offline button on the lobby.

There's a NL freeroll tonight at 7.30pm ET. The freerolls were off for a couple of days in advance of a software upgrade but I hate to disappoint new players so there's another tonight. :) There will be a regular schedule starting next week.

Currently its PC download only. Mobile in the works but not soon.

The 4 colour deck has been in from the start :)

Actually, there's a lot of visually adjustable items that can be configured from the table right click-menu including...

  • Deck style (as you've seen)
  • Card back design
  • Flop animation
  • Background
  • Player images

Don't want to overdo it with options but if anyone can think of other visually customisable nice to haves, pls mention.

You can play on the Training tables if you like to try out the various games, not much of a challenge for a serious player though and its play chips only.

There will be freerolls from 8pm ET tonight. If you are in Europe then there will be earlier freerolls in the coming weeks, just need to wait for Euro traffic to pick up.

I'm occasionally on the tables myself but am a complete fish :)

An upcoming s/w release will display lobby chat alerts on the main lobby so you can ask for a game in there and it will notify people logged in of someone looking for opponents.

Nice, that will help.

Also agree with the training tables if you want to just get a feel for the software.

And just to remind everyone, the first in a series of a few freerolls starts in about 5 minutes.

I have been playing on Grid Poker, and think that they have by far the best client, the most stable software, the widest variety of games, and the best staff around.

We just need the players.

SO......

I asked the owners to open up a big gtd, low buyin tournament tonight, and I am paying the gtd!  Great chance for an overlay, and its cheap.  Come check out this site, and play in the special Mega 5 chip gtd tonight!  Make sure to say hi to me in the chat box, my name there is tboraids.

The Details:

5 chip buyin.  200 chips gtd.  Slow structure.  Starts at 8PM ET.

5 chips is only .0005 btc.  Less than a dollar, to try out the great site.  Also, they have a 100% deposit bonus on your first btc deposit.  AND there are freerolls most of the time during the afternoon and night.

Come try it, join this tournament, and say hi in chat to me, and tell me you came to the site after seeing this post, and I may have additional surprises for you as well!

The website:  gridpoker.eu

Next 5 people to sign up to Grid Poker, deposit, and register and play the 5b 200 gtd tourney tonight, and post here with your username, I will reimburse the buyin to once the tourney starts.

Must deposit and play the tournament to qualify.  First time depositors only for this giveaway.  Find me in chat on Grid Poker after signing up and regging for the tournament (My name there is TBORAIDS), and mention code "gridlock", so I know to check here.

Good luck!

Exactly, would much rather play in browser. Is creating a big barrier to customer entry, few people want to download an unknown bit coin poker app.

Traffic is still a bit slow but climbing daily.

Right now there is a 5 handed .05/.10 game running and most of the day you can play most stakes 2-3 handed.
You will occasionally find a 100/point OFC or 10/25NL game. 2/5 PLO has been running quite often this week.

The sitouts used to be removed from the freerolls after being inactive for 20 hands.  They are no longer being removed.  Is this by design or oversight of one of the recent software upgrades?

7:30 est is 3 hours from now.

In the lobby it says the tournament starts 6 hours from now.

Did you mean that it starts at 7:30pm PST?

Also, what is a "t"?  It says the prize pool is "1000t", when all of the normal chips on your site are "b"s.

t chips can be used in tournaments and the chips you win are b chips which can be used for anything.

Wow yeah I am sorry I mean to say 10:30PM EST. Thanks for that correction.

T have same value as B but must be used to register in tournaments or sngs. If you win any regular tounrament or sng after buying in with T chips you will be payed out in B and are free to withdrawal, play ring, transfer or anything you can do with B.

Definitely planned but no time frame for it yet.

As for draw games, There are about three players who stick to the triple draw tables and one player that plays a lot of NL single draw when he can get action.

Changes to .1BTC Daily Freeroll

We've received numerous requests to change the time on the freeroll to better serve Non-US timezone players. Staggering the times on the freeroll resulted a bit confusing for some players and caused for a lot of players to miss the freeroll. We decided it would be best to break up the freeroll into 3 to 5 daily freerolls which will run at the same time every day and will hopefully allow for Non-US players to get in the action.

We've also introduced a variety of games into the freeroll such as H.O.R.S.E., Heads Up Shootouts, and more.

Today 3/17/2014 the freeroll has been broken down into three seperate freerolls.

6:30PM     EST 200b Limit HORSE
8:30PM     EST 200b No Limit Holdem Heads Up Shootout
10:30PM   EST 600b No Limit Holdem

Note : These are not the final times for the freerolls. Since we added them on late notice we left enough time between announcing them and start time for people to sign up. Times will be adjusted throughout the week.

There is another H.O.R.S.E. freeroll tonight, would be awesome if you went back to back on taking it down.
As for traffic, there has been an increase in players and we expect to see that number grow going into April.
Stay tuned for a new round of Freerolls and Promos coming in April.

We will definitely be offering GridPoker on Mac and Mobile clients but that is stilll a ways out.

A lot of people have mentioned that Grid works flawlessly using Parallels. iirc, some mentioned that they had it running using crossover. Although, I've had very limited success with wine I know at least a couple of users have mentioned they had it running in wine.

I hope this helps and we will keep people informed as we move along in the development process for other OS and platforms.

I'd like to have more option to use tournament chips : I have like 250ish in my account but there are  few tourneys which I may buyin to with t-chips and they rarely start.

I guess the reason is they require a min of 10 players registered to start but maybe only few people have t-chips in their account anymore.

And to be honest ,my opinion on tournament chips is they may be used in all tournaments not only a restricted few.

There have been no 0.1 btc  freerolls for quite a while.  Presently there are a few 0.0003 btc (yes that is the correct # of zeros) and 0.0002 btc freerolls daily some of which are only good for tourney entries.  So you see these are an improvement as they are free for both the players and the site.

No bots

The co owners never really got it off the ground.  They had a good framework...until betcoin merged with WPN....I think they just threw in the towel.  They never were really making any money, and basically feeding people with freerolls.  Depositors were few and far between.
