Title: Maths-based bitcoin game looking for feedback :D
Post by: bittheodds on September 03, 2013, 12:13:16 AM
Hi everyone! My friend and I coded up a small betting engine that we'd like to test. (www.bittheodds.com)

We have a few ideas for how to make this a LOT more than just another bitcoing gambling site. However, at this point we need your feedback to help us see in which direction we should be going.

We're nerds and love three things: gambling, the latest tech and bitcoin . We thought it would be really cool to introduce something (we think) has never been done before: a multiplayer, competitive game... that's not poker.

This is just our first 'sanity check' (MVP for those in the know) release, we didn't bother with graphics and logo, it's pretty bare. In fact, it's a far cry from our 'big idea', but we wanted to gather early feedback before pushing forward.

We'd appreciate any feedback you bitcoin guys and gals can give us. Thank you so much.

You have to try doing some sort of "Provably Fair" ... even if it is PvP. It's easy enough with all the hashing that spits out random looking numbers.

As mentioned already, the link doesn't work.  But my guess from the domain name is that you provide random games on the site (or rather, random "chances" like flipping a dice or whatever where the outcome is either "win" or "lose") and users can for themselves decide upon what rate they are willing to pay out a winner, and if someone else is found that accepts the offer, the game is played.  That way, you can try to calculate the mathematical expectation value (I presume the games are complex so this is not trivial) and try to bid your rate and hope to be competitive.  (At least that's an idea I had some years ago but didn't want to work on it further, and this now made me remember it.)

Link is dead. Make it alive. I think I could give some good feedback.
