Title: Can someone explain me why all of them are going down?
Post by: Bezobraznike on February 02, 2018, 11:09:25 AM
How it is possible for all of them to go down? I can not find logical
answer. If they are have different chains, different communities, what
is happening for second that that can affect all the markets and all the
coins, what is that strong?
If you do not have a clue, please restrain yourself from commenting.
I would like to see and read answers from people who might know
something more, thanks in advance.

In fact, the entire crypt is related from one to another. Cryptoworld is one and reacts to various news about the crypto currency very symmetrically. And soon there will be a New Year in China, and therefore about the crypto-currency fell in all the last years, so, it was expected.

This is my theory:
The market attracted last year a lot of new people intro crypto investment. You can see this by the sudden growth that happened in the last two quarter of 2017. They where excited by the proffits got from succesfull ICO (and they were a lot) and the big growth of BTC, ETH, LTC.
The problem with a market grown by the actions of newbies is that they panic sell in mass. The normal correction that happens every year in Jannuary combined with a well planned FUD done by some groups who whant some discount prices made this collaps. The total market cap is almost half than december 2017.
Now this is a domino effect and till all the pannic seller stop we cant do nothing than watch and HODL.

I don't think it's related to Chinese New Year somehow. I suppose that the main cause is Tether. A few days ago even Bittrex said that they are going to change USDT to USD.

The general FUD was caused by the problems of Tether and Bitfinex (they both have the same prople behind them). CFTC have sent subpoenas to their CEOs in order to investigate the resent issues with tether. Tether is suspected that they were lying about the reserves they should have to back their coin. Tether claims that everything is fine but they can't uncover the full information because they are still investigating how they were hacked some time ago. They also had some problems with the audit with their company which makes the situation even more unclear.
As far as the banks usuallu do not support cryptocurrencies USDT was a popular thing where traders could save theyr assets while the markets are falling down, make some USDT transfers between eschanges (USD transfers are ofc unavailable) and many other things.

it has always been like this. sometimes you shouldn't look for "logical" explanation in the market and you definitely should look for it in altcoin market because it is a side market not a the real deal, something like Penny Stocks.
and because of that it will never act alone. altcoin market will always be affected by bitcoin:
Code:
bitcoin up: altcoins down
bitcoin down: altcoins down again
bitcoin stable and sideways: altcoins pump.

It's actually a good question.

I don't have a definitive answer, but my theory is that the market is controlled by a small group of people, with tons of bots, and they're coordinated in a way that makes most cryptos change in the same direction, at the same time.

okay, so this decrease is caused by tether. but will the market recover and rise as it did last year? I began to pessimist that this would be difficult to achieve as last year.

The total marketcap of tether is something like 2 billion dollars. Trading volume in the last 24 hours is more than 30 billion. I don't think tether's volume is enough to make the market go down like this.

This is to prepare us for a big pump that is coming up. They should dump so people will panic selling their coins at a lower amount and those whales keep buying them until it will be scarce again with the supply. Then whales will start to sell at a high price and gain more profit. These is my speculation though could be true or not but most probably it should be true.

The main reason why some altcoins is going down is somehow bitcoin is the mother of all coins and if bitcoin goes down the market will goes down too. Many panic sellers will sell their altcoins because they know that they will accumulate more bitcoin units and some group of people making some FUD that's why maybe one of the reason why markets is crashing. This is only my opinion regarding on this given topic.

I think we entering the down trends. You can compare the BITCOIN price chart since 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. The chart have same pattern. See image below:

https://imgur.com/a/TQByd

The price drop since November until February. Then will rise again on early March. And will bull run and stable until end October.

Many argue that because of the Chinese New Year and there is a tradition to give money or can be called angpao, it resulted in some yesterday correction and decreased increase due to panic sell from some users or often said domino effect, that conclusion from some information I got.

The market of crypto currency is closely related. I think that the drop is due to bad news in the market of crypto currency. In the world, the tendency to regulate the crypto-currency market is gaining momentum in order to counteract illegal financial activity. In the USA since January 1, introduced taxes on the exchange of bitcoins. South Korea tightened the rules of trade on crypto-exchanges, demanding the eradication of anonymity. China intends to ban the mining of bitcoins in the country due to serious concerns about excessive electricity consumption, as well as financial risks. And that's not all news ...

In my opinion, there are currently 3 reasons for raising the price of the crypto currency:
1) The rate of the Crypto currency started to decline in mid-January due to the regulation of cryptology in some countries of Asia.
2) Perhaps also influenced by the company Fasebook, which banned the placement of misleading advertisements. (Under the ban hit advertising crypto, ICO and binary options)
3) In addition, the Indian authorities have pondered the total ban on crypto currency in the country, since they consider it an illegal means of payment.

It's down to trading bots.

If bots are programmed to sell when the dollar price has dropped by a certain amount, a drop in BTC will drop the dollar price of all the alts, which triggers immediate selling of them.

Price volatility is very high and fast. Bitcoin up and down 1000 Usd to 500 Usd easily. This markets no stable and the price is going down.

Coins seem to be independent of each other, but in fact all the investors are unified by one large cryptocommunity, and when people are afraid for their money they begin to totally spill the coins and this as an avalanche covers the entire market

There are lots of factkrs we can consider the continous declining of the cryptocurrency coins; one is that the issue concerning in India country which is causing an uncertainty to a lot of people making them believe that crytocurrency coins are really scammed. Also, the other one is Facebook and Instagram banned cryto coins advertisements in their websites which is preventing other Facebook users getting aware of it.

One point I would like to emphasize is that the whole market depends on Bitcoin, the entire security of the market depends on Bitcoin can observe, on top of that we can conclude that however much an altcoin and of sufficient quality it has always depend of pioneer.

my curiosity. Some of the comments are good, and I had similar
thoughts.
Black Tuesday was the first time I saw markets are doing this.
But now everything happened again in the same manner. That is
not normal.
Market cap in this moment is $415 B. Is it possible that people
in coordination with each other cashed out more then $100B in
just one day?

First because many government regulation that against bitcoin.
2. Because china banned bitcoin in there also the transaction in their country.
3. Many news about bitcoin that it was a bubble that will burst anytime
4. Indian government banned bitcoin and the transaction in there.
5. Japan coin exchange have stolen by hacker
6. Facebook banned advertising bitcoin in there.

Wish the market could back to normal even there is a lot of bad sentiment im bitcoin😶

All the altcoins are just reacting to what bitcoin's movement, for example bitcoin goes up or down surely these altcoins will go dump, and the only time these shitcoins grows is when bitcoin stabilized or goes sideways, thats the fact and most of the time thats what happens when Bitcoin's move plus FUDs are the main factor why bitcoin is dumping most of the weak hands are panic selling while they shouldnt be doing that, because this is how the whales play.

I think that very few people know what really happens with bitcoin and the market. Because most people just have some thoughts on this, but no one can say for sure. I think that this whole thing is connected with the fact that many countries are trying to prohibit the use of bitcoin. But they will not succeed

I think this may be the easiest question ever to answer. Just look at what happened to bitcoin in November and December. It had unsustainable parabolic growth. Too many new, uninformed investors came in to make a quick buck. The system got overloaded, throw in tons of negative news stories about regulation, etc...and these newbies fled like rats on a sinking ship. Veteran Whales didn’t want to see their unrealized gains evaporate, so they moved their money into tether or USD. The Sell orders overtook the Buy orders massively...and it tanked.

Am I talking about 2014? Or 2018? It’s hard to say because this is the same exact situation just with a lot more “000s.” Nobody can predict the future...but my guess is everything recovers eventually. If history repeats itself we may be looking at 2-3 years. Anybody’s guess.

Many people think it'll take at least a month or two.

The only answer which makes sense to me there is no way to justify the valuations of the coins. If we take a stock for example we have refined a way to device a relative strategy to evaluate the valuations. Till the time we have one like that for cryptos its pure emotion that will drive this market. Its not only crypto its the equity market as well which is free falling of late

Well said. I highly doubt that it will take 2-3 years for the market to recover based on past history since I am very confident that bitcoin and the entire crypto market will recover in the coming few months and I also believe that Bitcoin will touch $40,000 by the end of this year. The integration of the Lightning Network and the mass adoption of segwit wallets will most likely help Bitcoin and the entire crypto market recover in the near future. Personally, I have already made the switch to segwit and it has been a good experience and I recommend the Green address wallet.

The reasons why the market is down is because of personal interest. The government became interested in crypto like what happen in korera. Next is when gb bans ads about crypto. Which is to prevent people from getting scammed. But the real reason is that the founder of fb wants his own coin.

The growth trend assures a huge pump after such huge correction as per coinmarketcap.com. we had the same issue in 2015 where the correction last for more than 400 days plus loosing $1100 and you know it stared again from scratch and in less than 300 days,  bitcoin value has gone to $2500k plus. So never waste time in selling out when such corrections occur.  Try investing in more and utilize this situation to gather more crypto coins including bitcoin.

indeed I think this will cause panic in some people who still hold crypto until now because the price decline looks very soluble. but I am still optimistic that price movements will return to normal even will have a marked price increase so stay calm in the face of the current market situation. and it is only a matter of time for the survivors to hold crypto to this day while waiting for the most favorable moment.

Yes the price looked so terrible but if you compare this price with the price which bitcoin was traded this time last year you will find it better so the point I wanted to make here is nothing but the experienced users knows that fluctuations are common in crypto but I am afraid about panic selling of newbies

Crypto currency is very related. After the December price increase, bitcoin went to correction, and since any conversions of violas to fiat occur, as a rule, through bitcoin, the alto also went downstream after bitcoin. It was always, because most altcoins do not have the possibility of independent walking.

Because the market is made that way and they all pritty much follow bitcoin graph of buying and selling. There is a lot of uncertainty in the market right now, people with big money came in and someone want's to reown them (some lose, some win), that's how financial sector works. Of course Chinese New year and new regulations, also affect the market, making panic on the market, so investors sell off their token
