Title: EU in favour of banning bitcoin
Post by: sjefdeklerk on February 02, 2018, 01:35:52 PM
"Bitcoins weren’t created transparently and publicly, and they are suitable for money laundering,” Nowotny told the newspaper. “For a long time, I had the view that investment in Bitcoin should be a private matter. But I got the feeling that a legal provision is needed.”

I like what the Chinese central bank governor has said: bitcoins aren’t a matter for monetary policy in China, but for the police,” he said.

Right off banning bitcoin is fake news. He only stated that there should be further controls against money laundering and therefore it's the police's job.

Him saying that it's a matter for police makes it sound that he wants to ban it. He says he really likes what China thinks so that tells enough. In fact, him saying that it's not a monetary matter but a police matter, that says it all. If it was a monetary matter, they should regulate. Police matter means that the police needs to act, like murder, rape, drugs and now bitcoin :)

If they want to ban it or regulate it then that is their right and there is nothing we can do about it, however the first line saying that bitcoin was not created transparently or publicly is a big lie, everything is there for anyone to see, when bitcoin was created and where those coins are, everything is public, from the very beginning and it is way more transparent than what they do with fiat.
