Thinking of raising a separate fund that I will only spend in times of market crashes like this, so I get to buy during the dips.

Bitcoin rose from a few hundred $$ USD to almost $20,000 USD in a couple months in a massive speculative boom, that's why. The bubble is now deflating and probably will be for several more weeks or months. If you're investing now, you're going to need some patience.

There are really a lot of factors that contributed to the downfall of bitcoin lately. Recently, there were news coming from the Government of India saying that they are going to ban crypto. This cause panic from investors resulting to the price going down. But if you have to read it carefully, they are not banning it. And then there's the US regulators subpoena Tether and Bitfinex, again this negative news is another major factor to the market crash. Then government around the world discussing a tighter regulations if not total ban of bitcoin and cypto.

But you need to remember that this is another test that we can overcome. Bitcoin has the ability to recover from such attacks, market crash, price correction, government bans and others. If you are thinking of dumping it, I advise you not to but long at your investment in the future. Long term investment in bitcoin will really bring good financial gains. So stick with it.

It went up too quickly. And people thought this was great.  it has fallen but not as quickly as it rose and of course people are in a panic.  But if it can rise from a few cents to 20k then it can fall again.  I don't say it will but it could.

This correction is normal if you look at the data of January and February every year in coinmarketcap.com. We did have even the worst correction in 2015 starting Jan 14 lasting for 410 days plus having a lose of $1K. Don't worry. Don't sell bitcoin now, rather buy more bitcoins now as the value is so cheap and you will not even know if bitcoin value will still fall back to the current price.

Just bitcoin has totally come out of the effect created due to bitcoin futures getting launched in the market and bitcoin has now almost reached its previous price which it was before the ATH.

Its really a big blow for the new investors just trying to get rich quickly with bitcoins. Its clearing the market from such people not even ready to contribute a little to bitcoin.Fluctuations may get less here after.
