Title: [Discussion]To ASIC, or Not To ASIC? Post by: jdebunt on September 04, 2013, 07:51:28 AM Dear forum members,
i wrote up an article about some of the pro's and cons about trying to obtain an ASIC miner. The article is posted here : http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2013/09/04/bitcoin-to-asic-or-not-to-asic/ Feel free to discuss it either here, or post a reply on the website :) Keep in mind, i have left a few things intentionally vague or not fully explain, because there will be a few follow-up stories. Title: Re: [Discussion]To ASIC, or Not To ASIC? Post by: console_cowboy on September 04, 2013, 08:00:29 AM I think your article is not exactly accurate and very simplistic. USB Eruptors are actually ASICs, they were the first asics. These were made by asicminer, and there are also the blades, which are more comparable to the BFL products. You also don't mention any of the asics coming out by name. KNCMiner and Hashfast should get a nod as asics coming out, and Bitfury and Avalon chips are already shipping. The Bitfury chips in particular are performing well and have rigs out and hashing. You also make no mention of the controversy surrounding BitSynCom and their Avalon chips. In all truth, this article is so simplistic that it may even do more harm than good to people getting into bitcoin mining.
Title: Re: [Discussion]To ASIC, or Not To ASIC? Post by: HellDiverUK on September 04, 2013, 08:09:19 AM Terrible. You didn't even proof read it, did you? I spotted at least two obvious typos.
Do everyone a favor and take that down. |
