Title: BTC investment log
Post by: aoshea on September 04, 2013, 05:55:44 PM
Hello all,
I wanted to make a log about my BTC purchases to keep track of my gains/losses. With the purchase points of miners atm, I believe simply buying and holding BTC is the best way to seek gains. (I still do mine as a hobby, but I will try to put most of my BTC related  purchases into BTC itself not hardware).

Purchase #1 on 8/21/13 : 0.30 btc ($31.37)
Purchase #2 on 9/6/13 : 0.25 btc ($31.08)
Balance as of 9/6/13 : 0.55 btc ($67.03)

Theoretical USD % gain when sold: +6.8%

I purchase via coinbase and use coinbase prices for USD sell calculations.

I will update this thread with each new purchase/weekly.

I do this in elephantnote too! I just wish it could do real spreadsheets. I hate have to do all the math myself.

Spreadsheets are easy

Worksheet basics, cell references, and functions should cover most of what you need for simple position tracking.  I teach this course, so if you need me to explain anything send me a PM.
