Title: Please look at what high-rank member doing which their sMerit
Post by: tambenile on February 04, 2018, 03:22:41 PM
Check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2482937.msg25417254#msg25417254 . Lauda gave to aTriZ 20 sMerits because he promotes her ref code in this topic? Is this a HIGH-QUALITY post or what ? Or being abused by high rank members?
Please theymos , you should tweak this system before it's going insane.
Edit: Check the history sMerit between Lauda and aTriz you'll see how is the merit system works in "friend relationship" and Lauda only gave sMerit to people who are friendly to her, not for HIGH-QUALITY POSTERS. You properly check Lauda sMerit history too ? Those comments are HIGH-QUALITY ??? Give me a break please !
Please come and improve me wrong ? Lauda ?

This merit system is meant only for big rank people and let them earn more from signature campaigns and selling merit points because many people wont grow in rank anymore because these merit points are specifically implemented for the sake of few people and the proof is given by you, merit system is a currupt thing now

Why just one example ? There are many other examples of senior level members giving merits to new members in bulk for quality posts. Ex: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2828014.0

Edited: Some people failed to understand the contrast I was pointing here. I was not saying that they are doing wrong by giving merit points to junior members.

I don't really see what's wrong with this, this is how the system should work. The OP created a merit-worthy post and people saw it and rewarded him for it, doesn't he deserve it? What do you want? Revoke what the members gave? Why? Are you jealous? Don't be! In time you'll get some merits too, but not with these crap.

This is not of much use to me as I am a vegetarian. However, as an investor this is good news. It will pump the prices as Bitcoins will become more popular.

This new merit system looks too cool even though I have a long way to be Legendary. I might be the unluckiest user. ;D
Think about us. I think a lot of newbies will give up today only. :)

No that it not gong to happen. Even to earn with Bitcoins, you need money to invest and poor people cannot afford all this.

In my opinion this is not the right use of Smerit points. It should be given to quality posts by lower rank members as they need it more.

I'm getting tired of quoting. Every piece of post you got there is pretty much posted for activities to rank up, merit system came yet you won't change your ways. Goodluck on ranking-up with those.

There are many of us who are trying to use the merit system to encourage good posting habits amongst all ranks.. I'm trying to do this, but I'm having problems because I can't find many posts that I want to award with points. There are several reasons for this, and I've mentioned them elsewhere. I've still got over 50 points, but I'm not going to spend time hunting for posts any more.

It's his merit and he can award it to anyone for anything. There are no rules saying that you will face consequences for awarding a post that doesn't deserve to be awarded. The awards are subjective and depend on our own perception. What you may find boring someone else will be entertained by.
Of course giving 30 merit to someone that you're working for isn't fair or justified, especially that the merited post is a campaign OP that's far from being unique. If all campaign members started to merit posts made by their managers it would defeat the purpose.

Please read my post again. If you try to understand the context of the conservation, I was praising that post. So far as my merits are considered, if you are so interested in my merit points just bookmark my profile. I will be a member within next 2 months and believe me I need not type essays here for that.

What do you truly think you will achieve with this thread? Me to give random low ranked shitposters merit for a few constructive posts? No. Me to give even more merit to higher ranked members? Sure.

It is my campaign funded by Gunthar and managed by aTriz on my request. You are literally too stupid to intelligently insult at this point.

I literally chuckled out loud at this.  Reading meta lately is like listening to the Moron Tabernacle Choir, with shitposting pajeets screaming about how unfairly they're being treated at the hands of senior members...who won't give up their merit points.

Do you really expect someone to give you merit for some shitty English posts that you only made in order to spam the forum?  Come on, bro-zack, it'll never happen.  Try writing some brilliant material on whatever local board you qualify for, and maybe it'll happen.  As it stands, you seem to have exhausted your supply of English words, and any attempt to further converse with the natives will end in ridicule.  This is a great example of the merit system in action, doing what it's supposed to do.

I'm not here to point fingers and whatnot but let's be honest here... find a few high rank members, some low rank ones and compare their posts. Also, there's something called reputation (trust is a good example) and just for that you might get some merit.

Just don't go around with points like these but if you want to contribute, you can go and try to find users that are actually abusing the merit system (selling/trading), make a topic about that and say that you suspect them. Don't just go around accusing people.

Please do not beg for merit. Is a senior member sees this, you may get negative trust for this. Focus on making quality posts here and you will get some merits without asking for it.

Their is no need to begging for merit... Just improve your post quality and people can give you a merit for your quality post. But if you begging probably you got negative trust for doing this and it's concluded as a spam.... Also read the whole criteria about merit system here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

Give your best contribution for bitcointalk.org

Why, you came within a hair’s breadth of an investigative coup.  You barely missed the deeper truth:  ATRIZ=LAUDA THE BIGGEST SCAM IN THE WORLD!!!! MORE SCAM THAN QUICKSELLER!!!!!!!! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2575887.msg26234690#msg26234690)

Your mistake, Lauda:  It doesn’t think.  That is why we have this problem.  There are so many like it.

the format of this post gave me eye cancer

You’re so mean, crushing the poor thing’s artistic creativity that way.  Perhaps you need a sensitivity training class, TMAN.  Can’t we all just get along?  Please???

the Moron Tabernacle Choir

Both noisome and noisy.

You’re not my friend, you mealy-mouthed, obsequious imbecile.  You just did the equivalent of begging the professor for a good grade because you want to advance to the next class, and you know you’re too stupid to do it yourself.  I tagged you with negative trust, coloured red (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=1370551) FOR SHAME.  DO NOT BEG FOR MERIT.

I appreciate the fact that you tried to make an effort against the merit abuse . But you definitely got the wrong person here . Lauda has been contributing to the forum from years and she has made continuous efforts in order to keep the shit posters away from the forum by maintaining a proper list of them .
Moreover , it is not mentioned anywhere that you can  only give merit to people over some posts . For the people who are associated with the campaign , it is not bad to spear some merits for the manager .
I would suggest you to improve your own post quality instead of targeting others.

I like your idea there.  Any chance of an https, no-Javascript version with links to the posts?  (Not that I’d be begging for that.)

Sorry - I've put them on ignore so that I can't give them any merit by accident. :)

I did include the original post in the full sized image, but I seem to have stopped doing that for some reason. I'll go back to including that if it helps.

The "site" is based on a free template to allow me to build it with minimal effort, so it isn't very easy to remove the script, sorry.

Hey, no “sorry”.  I wouldn’t be one to feel myself entitled to my desired features on demand in a hobby project someone else does for free.

The beggars get worse. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg29664423#msg29664423)  I will take that as an indication that the system is working as intended.

Ohh man, you are the hell raising priest I have heard so much about?? This sure is a new account. Always wanted a chance to speak to you.

So what exactly is your grievance by the way? I have seen you complain about everything from the forum rules to bitcoin's abilities. Just want to understand where you are coming from. Were you hurt by bitcoin as a technology or the people supporting it?

Troll.  I first saw that one defending another troll by calling Carleton Banks “the one they send in to abuse people and if they answer back they get banned” (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2786690.msg29667749#msg29667749).  The thread was wisely mod-locked (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2786690.msg29695964#msg29695964) before I got a chance to respond, No, that guy is me!

It is always funny when a brand-new troll account shows up to defend an old, well-established troll account who just got flamed to a cinder.

Quasi-on-topic:  One of the great benefits of the merit system is that prolific troll accounts with 1000+ posts will remain forever frozen at low ranks.

Now, please do not feed the troll.  Especially one so dumb, it fails to grasp the advanced concept of a tip jar.
