Is there a news link because I want to make sure the news is correct, and if bitcoin makes a scam, are not bitcoin cash the same? They are very similar.

It's not just today, bitcoin price has fallen more than 50% since December after it reach $20,000.
A big correction due to blockchain can't afford too many transactions per second which cause huge backlog on mempool.
Another reason is some negatives news from Asia, especially in South Korea, a country that has great trading volume, people panic sell after a news indicate crypto trading will be banned.
However, I'm not agree regarding bitcoin called scam and bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin.
It's not the right of a US government institute to claim such thing, bitcoin users deserve to say whether bitcoin or bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin. We know it better than the US institution.

I do not know why they say that the original bitcoin is bitcoin cash, whereas bitcoin cash is a fraction of bitcoin.

I think it's just a statement that can not be justified. satoshi creates bitcoin, and does not create bitcoin cash.

As far as I know bitcoin cash is a forked version of bitcoin that is done on November 13, 2017. technically, i think the original bitcoin was the version created by satoshi nakamoto - the very first version, the version without iterations. when that version of bitcoin went through iterations and forks, then the original was changed.

however, since bitcoin follows certain consensus rules, and a bitcoin consensus - or a general agreement of what is called bitcoin by a majority of participants, then forks that deviate from these rules cannot be referred to as bitcoin. since bitcoin cash digressed from bitcoin's consensus rule and bitcoin consensus, then it was not awarded the bitcoin name.

Unfortunately the writer of this article is an idiot because the document that he/she provided was not an official document, and the NIST that provided that document already fixed it.

Stated on the article:

That is totally wrong, segwit (soft fork) is not the cause why there is a hard fork (Bitcoin Cash), there is a disagreement between the core developers and people that proposed the increase in block size limit that makes BCH developers create their own version of Bitcoin and contrary to that, core developers also proposed a solution which is segwit and an off-chain solution which is lightning network. Segwit and Bitcoin Cash are activated/implemented at the same time.

Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork and Bitcoin is the original chain that is created by person or group of people named Satoshi Nakamoto.

then from a technical bases, whichever codebase looks most like the bitcoin codebase prior to 2014 is the most closest to what bitcoin should be
and im afraid to say segwit codebase has far more lines of code that differ, far more rules that differ. far more address structures that differ, far more network topologies that differ.

1. i dont even think BCC is bitcoin either because of the lack of merchant use from bitpay/coinbase, where merchants advertise "we accept bitcoin"
2. many will say i have been team Ver because i have been opposed to team core since 2014. but over the years team core have pigeon holed me as team gavin, team hearne, team ver.. because they cant grasp that im defending bitcoin.. not a team(on any side)

that's propaganda. because they want price bch up so the whales use media claim that bch more batter than btc. reality there are so many altcoin more better than bch and btc. example like Bitshares aka BTS. this coin can handdle 100000 tps.

my advice should not be too easy to believe what media says.  we should be a little skeptical of what we read.

I stopped reading the article when I got to the part where it mentioned that the US Institute said that " Technically Bitcoin is a fork and Bitcoin Cash the original Blockchain ". That is a bold way to say something inaccurate and very ridiculous. The Bitcoin cash proponents are just too full of themselves.

Btc is not a scam and it has proved itself in the crypto market from past few years .You feel it as scam as you are not much aware of it before posting something regarding a fake news try to learn what it is and its real value in the market.Never come to conclusion from things that you hear from here and there or try to get advise from the once who are in the btc market from past few years or just help yourself and learn about bitcoins from this forum then you will understand whether it is  a scam or not.
