I consider this just to hype crypto if it is not backed by an official statement, post the link where you get that report and just don't rely on a buzz, we need reliable news so the price can get back to the right track.

If this is real news than it will good news for crypto world and the alts price will start boost up as Russia is also Big market.so lets hope some good news will come soon and every one is waiting for good news about crypto currencies legalization.

Can you link the source? Or provide us with where have you got this information from? I've seen talks about Russian bank, if I am not mistaken, is looking into building European crypto exchange but haven't heard anything about legalization,  this is hard for me to believe you tbh.

I do not know the truth of the news, but if it is true, then the future of Bitcoin is worth the wait. Another country recognized bitcoin, its popularity is higher, then there will be more people to use, its value will be higher.

News from this link is just related to miners,and it is 3 day old news.They will allow miners to have their operations in Russia,but will not allow them to sell mined coins in Russia,although this is still the subject of discussion.

Even older news from January 26. say that Russia is published federal law about “On Digital Financial Assets”,but this law is still not valid,it takes 90 days from official publication.

Although I am personally skeptical regarding Russia&Cryptocurrency,this is definitely for now positive news.But I would not be surprised that they make some changes until everything becomes completely official.

It's not legal yet.The finance minister has proposed a draft, which will allow the exchange of cryptos with fiat, but with regulations.Even ICO's will be regularized.

AFAIK, Vladimir doesn't hate cryptos, he seems to support them.He has always demanded a free market, and hates banks just like us.He even said not to add too many barriers in the bill.
Cryptos will never will be banned in Russia and as for the legalization, we know nothing for sure yet.Expect the bill to be passed by May.

It's a normal step forward. They publicly called the miners come from China to Russia. They have seen they can earn money from that.
The miners will not go there if they can't sell their coins. So they had/have to make the coins legit.
Russia 1 - 0 China. But I expect it won't be for long. China has to make the next move before all the miners go away. Bitcoin price may be already low enough for what they had in mind.

Russia is one of those countries that has not yet completely decided on what to do with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. there are a lot of statements coming from their government and central banks and each time they are contradicting the previous one one way or another!

for example early year in 2017 they said bitcoin will be legal because it is traceable. then by the end of the year they were some rumors of banning bitcoin, not again there are rumors of legalizing it!

Well you know if this news is true then for sure the cryprocurrency market could see a great boon soon .. and other countries might learn a thing or two from russia..
also russian minister just gave a statment about bitcoins which follwed his ideas about  how investing in cryptos could create a chaos and is futile for the near future.. thus we cannot expect this move to please everyone .. lets see what happens ..

I don't know this news is true or not but these kind of news will make the crypto currency investors a relief from the past experience of bad news and regulations for crytpo currencies which did all the things for the recent price fall.

What you said is russia legalized cryptocurrencies and allow mining without miners paying taxes, but in the article you provided it is stated that cryptocurrency miners still have to pay tax, and the central bank of russia wants to sell the mined coins overseas which can also means that they are not recognizing it fully legal in their country. But it is still a good news that they officially allows mining because russia is one of the best location to build a farm and mine cryptocurrency, given that they have cool weather and one of the country that can offer cheapest electricity.

I still not sold on Russia regulating or even legalizing bitcoin. If you will just observed how totally contradictory their words are, no don't need to be a rocket scientist to deduce that they are just using crypto to hug the limelight and get attentions, but they will never be friendly crypto countries because of the following reasons:

(1) they always tells opposite side of the spectrum, you will hear that they love crypto, but next day they will issue another statement contracting it.

(2) we all know how Putin loves to maintain his power and will not allow anything that he can't control.

(3) they already have their government crypto coins in CryptoRubble, I don't think they will allow decentralizes crypto against their own. They would rather have their people invest on their coins, which have a tax of 20%-30% if I'm not mistaken.

If it is true, this is a good news for us after so many bad news. And hopefully more good news to come.

It is a really great news to hear that Russian central bank just legalized all crypto currencies but the market is still going down just because some banks stopped credit card users from purchasing crypto currency and the market is bleeding for some time and hope it will be like this until we have some good news like these.

From the perspective of the Government - it is a logical move - allow it and tax it.
From the perspective of the Russian central bank - they encourage users to move mined funds outside the country as they want inside only that what they can fully control + they want to protect the national currency.
From the perspective of politics - Putin likes to be special and being "contra" by being "pro" is one of his usual moves.

Russia is the sphincter of the world, the most communist avid nation after NK, ruled by oligarchs , with corruption on pair with an African country, with crime, drug abuse, crimes and even file expectancy the same as a 3rd world country.

In the present time lots of problems like negative news and views are running in online word about bitcoin that is giving negative impact to the market of the cryptocurrency .
But here the news about the Russia about to make the all cryptourrency legal and also tax free mining , since in reality tax depends upon the final saving by the person per month/year according to rule of taxation .

This is a good news. I wish other countries will do this as well. Every government should realize the benefits crypto can give to their nation and people. Digital currency can have competition with banks and this means lower fees in the future. This will make every community enjoy a burdenless life.

I do not think Russia will first announce the legalization of bitcoin. And when most countries are restricting encrypted currency transactions, Russia will certainly not be the first to declare that the country recognizes the legitimacy of bitcoin， even Russia accepts bits but not 100% accept bitcoins that can not be taxed.

Because more and more world governments are trying to regulate the cryptocurrency market recently, and there is a lot of good news. I think BTC will be a part of our future life.

Russia Government has legalized crypto currency trading and crypto exchanges which is a positive signal, it would have a better thought if all the Government's start to think that way of legalizing bitcoin and other crypto currencies as that will be a huge transformation for the world as that can increase the economic and financial situation of the countries and uplifting the living standards of the normal people. what i know is that President Putin  has reportedly commissioned Russian officials to create their  national crypto currency that will circulate in the country, he also ordered finance ministry to create a bill a soon as possible to cater regulation against crypto currencies including how to tax mining activity , with this , there is no possibilities that all crypto will be legit in russia

How true is this news? I consider Russia to be one of the great powers of the current world, besides being a country that covers a large part of the trade in Asia. This may perhaps favor the bitcoin approval proposal.

This is a good news if this is an official one. I think Russia is planning to introduce their own crypto currency and a law for that is on the way. Unofficial news is that the regulation bill will be implemented in March it seems. Everyone is waiting for such a move from a developed nation like Russia and any positive note will make Bitcoin more demand in market cap and price.

Good news will not help if you do not want large bitcoin holders. Manipulation of news is beneficial only to them and it is difficult to guess when the trend in the market will change.

Making it sure or legitimate will be a great help for all the cryptocurrency in the world. i really like to hear news like this, country like russia, japan and i was reading an article if australia also have started to support bitcoin. Russia is one big country, this is good because bitcoin will be more popular there.

Any link to support this news? Seen different news about legalization and banning as well but sometimes even it's a good news better to show some proof about it. I did some research and nothing has been found, the only thing I've searched is that their government says that crypto is not a cash. Failure to show a link from a reliable source means that this is just a fake news but it's not a FUD.  ;D

I hope it was true as so many nations would follow Russia for not losing their competition on crypto but there is not even a link to your statement which makes it seem as not a official new.

If this thing is true then this is a huge news for the cryptocurrencies because the russia is one of the huge countries and most improved country in the world and i hope that the other countries will do the same so we can easily expect that the acceptance and adoption for bitcoin will be easier for itself in the near future.

I hope that you have a link for this to make it legitimate and not a hearsay only but anyways if this is real then their central bank and government will be the pioneer in legalizing cryptocurrency and other countries will follow if they see the russian economy grow because of this action.

Russian government is not far from legalizing cryptos because President Vladimir Putin loves his countrymen and besides Russia has a better understanding and perspectives towards cryptocurrency just like Japan. This is actually good for the Russian people since they were protected and supported by their government. If legalization of crypto in Russia takes positive feedback and results on it's giant economy, I am pretty sure that more and more countries will follow it's steps. And one more thing is that I know that Russian government will prefer a revolutionary currency to be used in  investment purposes or as payment method rather than any other fiat currency.

The article says that it will allow miners but with tax. Also, they are not allowed to sell within the territory which means cryptocurrencies are not yet fully legalized in the country. There are still restrictions made. Cryptocurrencies can't still be freely utilized in Russia and I hope they will be able yo decide on what to do with it.

This is very big news BUT we need concrete proof for such news as they are big. This kind of news can increase the bitcoin market capitalism by many folds as it gives assurance worldwide that the country where it is legalised will get many investors, traders, industrialist on track and thus will make great impression on the market. I agreed with you this post he is spreading a fake news, how come that Russian central bank legalized crypto currencies that their ministry against on crypto's. However there someone scientist in Russia that arrested by Russian police caught who have a miners in cryto currencies. And the Russian ministry said that “Trades with cryptocurrencies have become so widespread, a legal ban on such activity would lead to the creation of conditions for the use of cryptocurrencies as an instrument to service illegal businesses, launder criminal incomes, and finance terrorism,” .

So how could you say that Russia legalized crypto currencies?

It is unbelievable how these guys (probably earning a six-digit annual salary) are risking their jobs and reputation for a few Bitcoins. It was a defense facility. How come he was thinking that he may get away with it?

Fake news is everywhere and it's easy to spread it with the help of internet. We have to double check it first before believing whatever people says.



The Russian Government only regulates cryptocurrencies in their country especially to those miners. It is understandable that cryptocurrencies is not that fully legalized in Russia and with other countries. Despite of it, people in Russia can still earn bitcoin without fear. I'm glad that they're not like those other country that banned cryptocurrency.
