Hello dear investors,

There is a small amount of money on my bank account. Would it make more sense to add LTC to your portfolio with this money if it makes more sense to add ETH? I am open to opinions, comments and recommendations. If you make your recommendations along with the reasons, rejoice.

If you already have bitcoin, and you decision is just between LTC and Ether, then I would definitely go for ether. First you need to understand that all alts are still very connected to bitcoin, but from all of those I think litecoin is the one that shows more relation to BTC. So in my opinion, if you want some type of diversity I would choose ethereum, since ETH is not really competing with BTC. Maybe they are competing for "pride", but not for market uses, so both of them can grow separately from each other, and I don't think LTC can really grow without BTC.

As it has already been mentioned here, I would also keep my eye on stellar lumens, because it also looks promising to me.

Normally i would support going for LTC
But looking at the recent sentiment, ETH will stand a better chance holding its value

Both of it, LTC and ETH. Just divide your funds like 80% in ETH and 20% in LTC.

Because of the potential of ETH as the smart contract for most projects based on ERC-20 as we know ETH price could reach higher rate in percentage than LTC.

this is probably one of the most asked questions. people keep asking if X is better altcoin investment or Y. and there is never a good answer for it because different times demand different answers.

for example last year Litecoin was worth less than $4 and it got pumped a lot. it even reached $200 if i am not mistaken. but it was not always a good choice of investment. there was a time when it had the first pump and went up then there was a big crash and it stayed down. then another pump and another crash and so on with a lot of wasted time in between.

so what is the best investment when a coin is like this?
my strategy is to only invest during those rises aka pumps. and never after they ended. this means during the dumps or during the downtimes when there is not much happening i don't like to entrap my money in these coins.
since this is trading discussion board, as a trader you should want your money always active. and if you looked back and saw you were earning profit 25 days out of past 30 days then you were successful. but if you looked back and saw 5 days were profitable, 10 days nothing happened and 15 days you lost money then you are not a good trader.

to answer your question, neither of these two are good investments at this point. there will come a time in near future where these will be pumped. invest then.

This has been a question I've asked myself as well but went with investing in both. Personal opinion now though would definitely be ETH due to many new apps being built on Ethereum. Kinda regret going in on LTC but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Go to Ripple....Ripple coin seems to be having a lot potential. And it seems like it can be purchased for the low cost right now. not sure how many people would be into this. but it seems like the alt coin such as that. it can be one good option for the conversion of the investment.

Ripple is a currency that will grow a lot in the future because:

1-Payments are cheaper: since Ripple does not belong to anyone, the cost of transactions decreases.

2-Payments are faster: Because transactions are automatic, complex transactions can take place in seconds

Since the entire market is bleeding ,there are many opportunities to invest at this time,but i would like to invest in litecoin at this moment as they came up with a new solution of merchants which i think is a very good move from their part and hopefully they will be releasing the new application next week and if so ,the market will rise without a doubt.

If you have huge amount of money to inverse in cryptocurrency means,you can choose Ethereum.Instead you have less amount of money to inverse ,you can try of LTC for your future.Now the price of LTC is 140$,so you can buy 5 LTC with the money for 1 ETH

The actual price of LTC seems to me a bit overrated, although there was a great upgrade (Segwit). But just remember, LTC was worth 4$ at beginning of the last year. ETH has a huge platform with smart contracts and its tokens so I would recommend ETH.

I really like'em both , but I think I would prefer to proportionally share my investment ( like 40℅ LTC and 60℅ for Eth ) because they are both awesome & promising alts .

I would advise just to keep your fiat in your bank and not to buy anything untill we will have at least a couple calm days. It is avery stupid mistake to buy crypto during the wave of FUD hoping that the price will turn back after you bought the coin. It is always better to miss 1-2% as missing opportunities then buy the coin that can loose 10-20% in the next day. When everything will be stable it will be wise to buy ETH simply because it is easier to buy tokens with it. Altcoins and tokens will stard rising soon after BTC.

The question is: what do you want to do next? because if you buy eth you can invest in ICO if you are interested in a good project and earn more!

I believe that although the growth in terms of the current time LTC is faster than ETH but in the long run ETH will be far ahead of LTC with the utility applications that ETH bring us. According to my analysis, Tet will be the time when the coins are pump so you buy the choice of the best coin to buy and hold.

Both of these coins are have got a very good prospect, but I would prefer Ethereum. Because Ethereum has been getting more investors attention than any other altcoins now.

In my opinion, both of them are ok when it comes to price and volume of investors around the world and they are one of the top Altcoins in cryptocurrrency. Putting all eggs in one basket is very risky so you better to spread your capital into different Altcoins but it would be better to invest only to top coins. This is the best time to invest because the price is lower as compared from last year and then hold until you reached the desired income.

ETH and LTC, are cryptos with good prospects and potentials, which operates on different platforms. If I am to invest in any of these two, I will go for ETH, reason being that, it has a larger network than LTC.

I suggest you convert it to ETH rather than LTC because ETH has more function than that, not to mention most altcoins using ETH as the basic conversion not LTC. I do have more eth than btc for investment because of btc price has spiked in the recent months, but i consider to invest more in btc now since the downfalls. Anyways, ETH got more room for improvement and one of the most useful to convert between any cryptocurrencies so yeah i suggest to buy and hold more ETH  ;D ;D

I'll choose ethereum rather than bitcoin because ethereum has a bright future and many ICOs are using the ethereum platform

If you have small amount of money then you will choose LTC. But both are good, but if you have limited amount then go to LTC. Otherwise i always advice for everyone choose bitcoin, but bitcoin is expensive and everyone have no enough money.   

Personally, I believe a lot in Ethereum because of all the ICO based on ERC-20 tokens, Ethereum could become the first crypto currency in the next months, it's high potential.

I believe that at present ETH is still a better choice than LTC. We can see that there are many ICO projects that have been successful on the ETH platform, and that the government is also putting blockchain technology in the governance of the government. This shows that in 2018 the price of ETH will rise sharply.

Depending on how you see them but I think litecoin and ethereum are good and you can actually choose from any of them for investment. If you are a seasonal trader I think there are other new coins that may give you high return in a short time than bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin. My personal opinion is that Ethereum will be still on the first place among all the crypto-currencies. So decide for yourself.

It makes more sense to invest in eth because eth rank the second in marketcap and been used for smart contract, LTC being used because of the fast transaction, the potential of eth is better than LTC, the transaction volume of eth also better than LTC, eth is winning from LTC in almost every angle

Half and half. LTC has room to grow but in the shot to mid term, apart from irrational speculation, don't expect too much movement.

My advice: divide your money and buy both coins. Both coins have good prerequisites for price growth. Therefore, you will not lose. And do not keep all the eggs in one basket.

there are a lot of coins out there which you can earn a lot more profit only if you open your mind and start looking outside the box. the box being the top 10 or so coins.
for example TRON and Bytecoin are two coins that have been getting pumped big time in the past couple of days ever since the bitcoin bottom.

In my opinion, you should keep ETH, a lot of coin now running base on ETH. If you want to invest in ICOs, ETH is no 1 for that.

It makes no sense to invest small amount in expensive coins, I mean, you want to invest in coins which are already expensive. Ether is $800+ and LTC is $170.
What do you expect from these coins, to increase 100X or something because they already have.
With small investment you should seek for low cap coins which could grow in future and give you nice profit, but if you still want to add them to your portfolio add them both.

I think ETH and LTC both are very good coins. If you see last few days, you will see when BTC price Up and Down then ETH and LTC are up and down. But I specially prefer ETH and I think ETH will be second Cryptocurrency in the world. So ETH is the best.

I think if i on your side of mind i can choose ethereum because this ethereum have potential to rise and grow up price soon on coming months this year,LTC is good hear to buy that volume is huge on many exchange so go pick bot to buy and take more on eth instead same amount on LTC you get.This to altcoin is very good to buy.

I would buy litecoin because he 15 Feb listing on the exchange CoinField and then on 19 February he has hardwork.

I will choose ethereum even I had already I still choose to add some in my wallet. Ethereum has a lot of potential and more to grow in the market. More predictions that ethereum could still become huge thos year so let's observe then.

If you really wants opinion then i would suggest that you can divesify your portfolio between both the coins like some part in Eth and some in Ltc but a greater part in ETH being more compatible and have great potential in the long period whereas litecoin is for short period but not a bad option. Both are going to rise and shine in the market soon so don't loose this opportunity.

I like ETH better

Ethereum seems to have more potential and to me that's going to make those who invest or trade in it some very good profits and i do believe that ETH is the third most valuable crypto at the moment.

We can see that at the moment the price of LTC is always strong growth, the growth rate is over 20% in recent days. But on the long side, I believe ETH is still a top priority, with great applications and backgrounds, I think ETH will grow very strongly in 2018. In particular Many successful ETH ICO projects, which will push ETH prices up very high this year.

I think the ethereum has more potential than Litecoin. Smart contracts are written on it, make ICOs and resolve the issue of scaling. In general from all points of view it has more potential as a valuable asset. Of course ethereum will reach 10K in the future. But just now, I will hold main part of my portfolio in bitcoins, etherum and may be in Bitcoin cash.

Between these two, my choice would be ETH.

I personally recommend ETH than LTC. Eth will be so much high at the end of this year. It might go 3k usd up to 5k usd if it enjoys its run. ETH is such a beautiful coin with a beautiful team behind it. It seconds bitcoin. But I recommend you to invest also in NEO.

I would rather prefer Litecoin because of the price range as it has the biggest possibility to be used as a currency when compared to ETH,with the latest introduction of litepay it is possible that the price of litecoin will increase,i am not seeing anything bullish with the price of ETH as the current price is way too much ,if you are having a bigger balance you can get into ETH for a profit in the long term,but in the short term i would prefer litecoin.

According to your sentence you already have a portfolio means or I hope you have btc in there . So this means addind LTC is a little bit nonsense, as reason of acting like btc it is. so I suggest adding ethereum to your portfolio.
If you have no BTC in your portfolio then I suggest adding 40% btc 60% ethereum with you small amount..
At the end of the day if you have profit from BTC this means increase on ethereum will be much more than you will have much more from ethereum..

my vote goes to eth.ltc also good moving but eth is the most popular currency after bitcoin.it's demand too much high all of the world.I have little investment in eth & I hope eth increasing every day.

My first choice will go to Eth because of some reason
as ethereum price is high as compare to ltc
ethereum demand is more in market as compare to LTC
Ethereum volatility is high as compare to LTC.
But also best option is that to work with some different coins at a time is best.

I'll go with LTC now. or why you will divide your funds? Try to put on both coins. LTC and ethereum is really promising and good for long term investment. It is really nice for long term because they are more project upcoming. This is only my opinion. Try also other coin beside ETH or LTC.

I prefer ETH because most of new projects are based on ethereum smart contract so I think in the future demand on ETH will only grow.

I would definitely go for Ethereum if I was in your shoes since ETH is the best coin after BTC. It is about 10% price of that of Bitcoin. It is second best coin and is most likely to skyrocket in a few years. ETH has got a good potential to succeed since it is used by many ICOs for development and there are many traders as well who trade it regularly.
It is not that difficult to mine ETH and any person would mine ETH over LTc for a greater profit.

Litecoin is a good crypto currency and it have some potential surely, but I have no doubt that Ethereum is a lot better, and more valuable nowadays. Since you are talking about a portfolio that you seem to have already I think the question is why you have not added those coins from the very beginning? A portfolio without those two coins is not really complete, since those two coins are some of the best but if you only have the money to add one at this moment my choice will be LTC since the possibility to get profits with it is higher.

LTC and ETH is very interesting coin with different pattern andnews speculation. Those coin also survive in crypto market,look's great if we have both of them. For now I suggested LTC to buy not because I love LTC with their pattern but LTC has low price with stable volume, very good sign to invest/trade using long term ( day - week - month ). My analyze result is LTC will have significant price moving start from March. Take LTC and enjoy the profit.

Ethereum is better than litecoin because ethereum got a smart contract system where you can create your own token and launch an ICO but if you are just an average user then it is still better to go with ethereum because its smart contract will bring a lot of positive things in the future and you have a better chance to grow your investment in ethereum rather than litecoin.

LTC is not soundable as Ethereum is that's why I would go choose ethereum over the Litecoin, But i will not focus on Ethereum only since as we know LTC can actually pump on future thats why I want to grab this coin also.

Patterns of speculation given by andrews will just be a pattern but if we look the noise created by the coin well we can tell that those one will get the huge adoption in the near future.

Both of these altcoins include altcoin which's no wonder if often picked among many people, and have a chance of price movements that are often profitable for the long term. Well but if indeed I've to choose between the both with a small amount of money, maybe I'll choose Eth first.. if it's already earn a profit, I'll add an investment in Ltc as well.

If you buy LTC you can benefit from the Litecoincash fork this weekend

Starts on February 18, Sunday 11:34 PM, and I think I'm ready for that. Maybe I will transfer some of my other coins into litecoin before that date. Many bitcoin and ethereum forks were fine, so I'm thinking that this one should be alright too.
Bitcoincash surprised me, I didn't believe that bitcash can worth so much and to rise to more then 4000 dollars in one moment.
Before I didn't belive in this forks, but now when I see how other forks are doing its a good thing to have this forked coins.
It doesn't matter eth or ltc, transfer your funds to ltc for this weekend and later return to previous state, wait new fork do the same again.

I supported LTC before and was really expecting for this coin to be next to Bitcoin but was overlapped with Ethereum. Based on its progression, ETH has more blockchain related projects compared to LTC so I would choose ETH over the other coin.

That is why I also like ETH because there is a non stop development and it's trusted by big projects who conduct an ICO to raised funds.
So far, there are a lot of successful project that I see which are using ETH platform and it's continuously growing.

Personally I would guess that ETH is slightly better, purely because of the amount of applications we are starting to see using it and it’s still very early days.

LiteCoin without a doubt. It is bitcoins little brother at a $4B market cap and could easily double from current levels. It has fast transactions, ex-GOOGler Charles Lee at the help, integration with fiat at many exchanges including GDAX, support for Segwit and a use case as a reserve base currency for trading at many crypto exchanges.

But this is not about which coins is the best out of the two this is about which coins is better to include in your portfolio right now, and out of the two litecoin seems like the best option, the market cap of Ethereum is higher and as such it is going to be more difficult for it to go up in price compared to litecoin, but at the end is a matter of personal preference.

We can see in the past days the market is very exciting when the price of BTC and altcoin are very strong. But only LTC is down sharply. So now I think we should invest in ETH rather than invest in LTC. ETH with a solid foundation and expected prices will increase sharply in 2018. There are many successful ETH ICO projects that will push ETH up strongly.

ETH or LTC I think both coins are as good as ETH good because many coins are emerging from ETH. and LTC is better in its system I guess even better than btc I think. if you want to invest in those 2 coins do not hesitate I guess they will continue to grow from time to time

I strongly believe that we should choose ETH at the present time to invest. It can be seen that ETH prices are rising strongly in recent days with strong buying power as at present, the ETH price will surely continue to increase in the coming days. And LTC is going against the market, prices have dropped sharply in recent days so we should not invest in LTC at present.

I do not think like you, can see the price of LTC is dropping sharply in the past few days while the price of ETH is quite the opposite, up very steady and stable. Therefore, I think we should not buy LTC at the present time because LTC's price is falling sharply and there is no sign of recovery. With a background

Ltc is a fork of bitcoin , it didn't show something new at the beginning , it uses bitcoin blockchain , but Eth invented something new , some new blockchain , I'd suggest you keep some of that money in Eth and some in Btc instead of LTC,if You don't want to take high risk.

I think ethereum is unnecessary to compare with other projects. I think the contract-based technologies that he has promised for now are the most advanced case.

For me if I choose I will choose this two coin because for sure both have big potential to increase the price after few years. Ethereum price for sure will become $5000 while the price of litecoin will become $1000 so better if you have both this coin and for sure you will get a lot of profit.  Those people who invested to these coins are now happy because they can earn a lot of profit or some of them are become rich.

My personal choice and recommendation is Etherereum. ETH got a huge potential to grow and I feel ETH is the most underrated coin in the whole crypto-market.
On the other hand, LTC is also a good choice but If compare to ETH, I will prefer ETH over any other coin. I am expecting ETH 2x in short-term and 7-8x by the end year

I prefer ethereum than ltc, yes ltc has potential to pumps, but eth is great too because it is most useful in ICO tokens and can be rise this coming months. But it's your choice to what your heart tells which will be successful altcoin in the future.

obviously i chose ethereum. because   eth not just a token .it,s a good currency many altcoin made for ethereum currency.my big reason to chose eth stable in this year.then eth future and road map good .

Its always hard to choose between two good things. Ethereum maybe have potential to cost more, cause ETH is platform that is very popular and people use it got making new icos, they all will need ETH and that can boost price a lot. Not are great, but I'm with you guys I think too that ETH can bring more profit.

ETH will always be my first choice not for it's growing prices but for the stability and the trust that he had built during bad times is priceless.It has almost covered all the aspects of great coin as ETH is one the most technically advanced coin.It is fundamentally very strong and can perform for long period.On other hand LTC,which is also a good coin but it is yet to build it's own positive reputation.The fluctuation in LTC are frequent and it can't be stable.Soo it makes LTC more risky than ETH.

As of today litecoin seems better as we can see good price surges especially due to the hard fork. Ethereum is showing steady price and for long term it will rise more as it is backed with good team. To buy now ltc will be good as the price is much less compared to ethereum. And if you are capable of investing large amount then sure ethereum is the good choice because it is having a great future.

For me, the best cryptocurrency is bitcoin but since you are just choosing between ETH and LTC, I suggest you to invest in Ethereum.  Ethereum is the next cryptocurrency in bitcoin with good reputation.  Concept wise, they are almost the same but some investors chooses ethereum because it has a much lower price compared to bitcoin and  has a much lower transaction fee.  LTC is also a good currency but according to many crypto news, Ethereum also has the possibility to reach bitcoin price.  So, it is the best way to invest in ethereum while its price is low.

it is also better to Ethereum because the price increase is faster and it is accompanied by bitcoin rather than Litecoin which is too low to buy when its price is low.

Hello there...so as per the question, this is probably one of the most asked questions. people keep asking if X is better altcoin investment or Y. and there is never a good answer for it because different times demand different answers. for example last year Litecoin was worth less than $4 and it got pumped a lot. it even reached $200 if I am not mistaken. but it was not always a good choice for investment. There was a time when it had the first pump and went up then there was a big crash and it stayed down. It makes more sense to invest in eth because eth rank the second in market cap and been used for smart contract, LTC being used because of the fast transaction, the potential of eth is better than LTC, the transaction volume of eth also better than LTC, eth is winning from LTC in almost every angle. Those who want to be protected from the price declines of Bitcoin fit the Etherum but unfortunately did not show the expected performance on the Etherum. Litecoin is no longer preferred for investors. Between these two, my choice would be ETH. It's the prince of crypto.

It's your choice if you want to add litecoin or ethereum because if you have this two coin for sure you will earn a lot of profit after few years of waiting. I follow coinbase because for sure if coinbase add coin they have big possibility the price of that coin will increase because they do a lot of research of everycoin befite they add it to their if they have potental to increase or not so that's why this two coin is a pptential coin.
