Title: Line vs Telegram vs Amazon vs Sberbank - Next level of Crypto Adoption.
Post by: legendster on February 07, 2018, 03:01:24 AM
Before I start babbling.
Here are the main articles that I am referring to :

Major Japanese Chat App LINE To Open Crypto Exchange for it's Users (https://cointelegraph.com/news/major-japanese-chat-app-line-to-open-crypto-exchange-for-its-200-mln-monthly-users)
“Telegram Open Network” (TON) will be a new, (https://www.coindesk.com/telegrams-1-2-billion-ico-ambitious-token-sale-yet/) ‘third generation’ blockchain with superior capabilities (https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/08/telegram-open-network/)
Sberbank, Russia’s Largest State Bank To Open Cryptocurrency Exchange In Europe (https://cointelegraph.com/news/russias-largest-state-bank-to-open-cryptocurrency-exchange-in-europe)
Amazon Gearing Up For A Cryptocurrency Exchange? (https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/01/amazon-buys-crypto-domains-bitcoin-ethereum.html)

I think 2018 would be seeing many more positive news when it comes to mainstream crypto adoption. No doubt about that. The only concern I have is the fear of market domination. What if Bitmain today is rendered useless by a terrorist attack or Chinese gov. clamping down even harder?

What if these big names that are entering the crypto space come to dominate and control the freemarket? Satoshi's main principles behind Bitcoins were decentralization and anonymity. Well, we've already traded anonymity for a larger legal adoption of crypto, now are we heading for centralization as well?

LINE is not really into crypto and just adopting, unlike TELEGRAM,
about Amazon, there is a lot of ICO who are done with this kind of platform.

Head of russian Sberbank Herman Gref said: "Cryptocurrencies have now become a part of everyday life, and the worst thing we could do is to prohibit or ignore them". He also bought some bitcoins and declared that in public. I have also seen he was speaking with Putin and adviced him to dont forbid cryptocurrencies because it may cause money outflow.
As you know russians try to mine bitcoin even by supercomputer in nuclear station, Herman also cought his employes mining bitcoin in Sberbank. However he said that he is not intresting in mining

That mining with Supercomputer was a one time thing done by a single guy with access to a nuclear facility ILLEGALLY.
I wonder however, if the Russians would rather setup mining facilities with the same budget as a Nuclear facility. THAT would be stupendous.
