Title: Does it have any value? Post by: El Extranjero on September 07, 2013, 04:42:07 PM So my girlfriend's dad owns a $2 or $1 USD note from when they were still backed by actual silver before the Fed was privatized and I wanted to ask if anyone in the community knew if they have any value. Anyone?

Anyone? These are called silver certificates.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0a/US_$1_1928_Silver_Certificate.jpg They are collectable for sure, but not rare enough that you should consider selling it (yet). I see them for $30 in good condition at a coin store near me, and they charged me $6 for a 1943 steel penny (worth about $1.50 I believe). Title: Re: Does it have any value?
