Title: What usually happens to the price of a given crypto coin once the airdrop ends?
Post by: simsamsum on February 07, 2018, 10:24:59 PM
I am interested in hearing what happens once airdrop ends? I have been HODLing and staking Deeponion for quite some time, but I am not sure what will happen with the price once the airdrop ends.. Does any of you have any examples from similar coins?

Deep Onion? It do already have a price you can see it here https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/deeponion/  and you can find out the exchanges on where you can able to sell it off. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/deeponion/#markets .For other airdropped coins theres no sure if they would able to hit up on exchanges it would be depending on the team if they would push it to be listed or not.

It depends on the developers of the coin if they will push through with their plans or not. I participated in a few airdrops and some coins are doing well and some are worthless because these coins are abandoned by the developers so they are just there as pump and dump coins. Some airdrops though became valuable eventually because the developers are serious with the project and constantly up to date with all their activities so more investors got involved and price are going up because of the demand.

If ever the developers of deeponion would be able to follow their road map and continue developing their plans then the coin would be more valuable in the future. This applies to all other coins as well.

You are right it all depends on the developer, where he will bring his project, whether to be more developed or not.

It reminds me of XLM, yes Stellar Lumens. First XLM is an airdrop project and named Stellar STR, we can see the progress that happened and this is all the result of the hard work of the developer and his community.

If people who develops it will focus on their goals, road map and white paper then that airdrop will be worth it soon.

It's worth $4.77 now so how many you got? You may want to sell it when it becomes green.

I would have to say this is going to depend a lot on the coin's use itself, while the airdrop is still ongoing. I've now been a part of some airdrop campaigns where the tokens rise in value and then drop as soon as they all get sold off. Some like POStoken encourage you to hold as do most staking coins so these go up and down in cycles. But this is all down to speculation.

My favorite airdrop coin is still blackbytes. It took a long time to recover its old ATH, but after fixing their airdrop (more than half gone but next is in May and will probably last a really long time) the price went back to a new ATH recently and is still strong now with good merchant use and very good devs. Best wallet ever, also.

The most common trend though not always; the coin price drops a bit and this is due to airdrop beneficiaries dumping the coin as they would not have invested in monetary terms hence they would sell at any price. Like someone said in the comments above, if the developers do not abandon the coin and the set plans, the coin will gradually appreciates value and holding will pay off in this case.
