No one knows and no one can guarantee this, it can be multiple by 100 and also it can be drop till 5$. it's decentralized.

I agree, we cannot tell what will happen in the future, Bitcoin price is very unstable now and most of the time the price keeps decreasing, it is because of the negative news that is coming out.

Yes, it could be possible. I remembered reading an article earlier that if the 2% of the worlds wealth like gold and stocks penetrated in bitcoin, the value may get into 1 million dollars. But also, the threats and banning in other countries makes it decline in value. That's why we cannot say for sure that bitcoin will get higher or it might get lower.

What's wrong with believing positive things like this, and if that's true. it will be very useful, especially for bitcoin users, worldwide.

The problem with this is people are believing on something, once the price Dips they will come crying about their loses. Its better to teach them that in Crypto nothing is for sure.

first of all since this statement does not have a time frame then it is true because bitcoin will rise up a lot more than just 30-40 times its current value in long term.

secondly it will not make investors millionaires because they have to initially invest a lot of money to get a lot of profit out, and also not everyone is wise enough to make rational decisions. there are a lot of panic sellers.

30x current price?  to $300k in unqualified "near future".  Its nonsense, hype by a guy running an exchange that wants you to buy and sell.  If it reaches 30k it would be a great story, but expose the technical problems again as it did approaching 20k.

To take predictions seriously we need to have a fixed time frame and reasons it will achieve that sort of price.

Either true or false the statement, fantasy of big profit in the future is possible in the bitcoin. It is good to hear the increasing of price but we need to focus today before the next day. This time is hard to make a decision if we buy or sell the hold bitcoin because the price now is totally crashing and some countries already ban the bitcoin. If this will continued the bitcoin surely fall.

Think about it, there is 8 billion people on Earth and only just 10 million people bought any crypto currency. When more and more people uses and buys crypto, of course the price will be 50 maybe 100 times more of todays price.

Truth is that predictions are not guaranteed, but even so we do not have to be too pessimistic to say that the price can fall to $5, if price went to $5 then would be the biggest disappointment of 2018... if this ( 1BTC =5$ ) happened would be marked in the history of the biggest failures ever.

I've read a lot of FUD news regarding bubbles, banning, hacking, bla bla bla. I expect that good news coming at the beggining of february will make recover the uptrend patern. Indeed, the moves of the past year raise the same old question: where does bitcoin's price go from here? If 2017 is any indication, all bets are truly up. most probably.

but for now, the crypto market is still not stable yet.
if the market is green for 1 week, then it is the sign of bitcoin raise.

Bitcoin is very unpredictable but has a strong power no to the people all over the world. bitcoin will be a rocket soon and 30-40 times is possible for bitcoin as it shows its power before. but the only risktaker can have the increase like that. hold your bitcoin longer to see the profit it can give you.

Find out who has Bitcoins stored away, just listen to the ones saying they will be worth 80 thousand by the end of the year. Who wouldn't believe someone like Vinklewoss and his brother who have so much invested in Bitcoin?

Anyone can make any prediction about bitcoin,either up or down. The same applies to the stock market. Investors buy stocks because they believe company profits will increase and therefore share price. Investors buy bitcoin in believe they will increase. More investors will lead to increase while less investors will cause decrease.

I think the rise of bitcoin to 40x is an excessive prediction. Although bitcoin has the potential to continue to increase its price, but for 40x it seems like impossible in the near future.

it has already multiplied who knows how much 50000 times maybe? the starting price was lower than 1 cent and the ATH is nearly $20000 and we are not even at the mass adoption stage yet.
30-40 times in "future" is nothing. bitcoin is on the rise and even though at times like this we see some drops, these are opportunities to pick up some more before the rise continues and it keeps the market healthy.

Yes it is expected and most of popular bitcoin traders and investors are saying that price of bitcoin will increase at the end of this year and the same I do think I can see the future of bitcoin as bright as we want to invest right now and wait till the end of 2018, I am sure right now people have started to buy and hold for long time but it is must to wait long to have proper investment.

You have to understand where they're coming from. Those guys are very bullish about bitcoin since day one because they are a bag holder of it so they will says anything that will push the price to go even further so that their investment will grow.

Well bitcoin has already made ordinary people millionaire by investing on it specially the early adopters so, definitely I say its already happened. However, as far as how much will it grow in the future. No one can say for certain.

You know what, those two are not just a millionaire they are both billionaire of bitcoin however, due to the recent decline of price the title could been removed to them, I just don't knew if they invest additional bitcoins to their portfolio after the recent dip. Another one is that those two owned gemini which is a trading platform for bitcoin only as I recall. Thus they want to broadcast that the price will skyrocket and encouraged to trade with them.

A 30-40x increase from current prices would mean more than 250,000 per bitcoin. That is a lot and not very likely to happen in the near future. In the longer run though, a rise like that can happen, but I wouldn't count on it happening this year.


You are probably right in that they are trying to attract more attention with these claims to promote their own platform and increase their earnings through trading fees. Not that I mind, as it will only increase the amount of people that know about bitcoin!

I doubt this will happen in the near future, it's a very wild expectation. Not that it would make me sad, but i don't think it's a realistic forecast.

Looking at the current position of bitcoin, it's hard to believe the price will be 30-40 times higher. And some have a point in not believing this prediction from Winklevoss, because these brothers have an interest in an increasing price. But if bitcoin would reach 20K this year again, that would already be great.

It is possible that bitcoins prices will be 30-40 times in near future as the supply of bitcoins is limited it will be quite valuable and also that bitcoins are very volatile and unstable.But it would take lot of years to reach this level but also bitcoins are highly unpredictable so who knows it might happen sooner.

It is not impossible for  Bitcoin to multiply 30 to 40 times in the near future, since Bitcoin is attracting attention all over the world and becoming popular for investors. However the negative side is that Bitcoin is limited and nowadays there's too many people aspiring to become successful by mining. So if the bitcoin is limited and there's a lot of miners it'll​ be hard to earn more unlike when bitcoin is only starting.

Well you did not define near future, but theres so much awareness about bitcoin now. from my little experience its difficult for assets to have astronomical rise like that when so many people are aware and waiting to make money from it especially within a short period of time. Bitcoin will rise but it will be little marginal increases over a period of time.

Yes it could be possible, because I myself believe on technology that's why we are here, Crypto space are people who believe in their self. If this guys believe before they invested here in bitcoin it's possible that it will change everything just like what happened to facebook. It bubbles up in the year 2008 up until present so there's possible it will increase more than our expectation.

As I am making my research about bitcoin I've seen that it has a potential to appreciate as high as 200%, and it really happens few months ago so I have no doubt that in later years we will be having a 30-40 times value of bitcoin, besides the demand continue to increase while the supply is fix and limited, there's no way to support the demand but only thru increase value of bitcoin.

I think its true, since bitcoin already have been in a situation like this. Dropping low and climbing back up in few months. Since the start of its blockchain, bitcoin has already rise in about 10000x on its original price. So it is not impossible for it to even reach that speculation of 30-40x in the few moments.

It is possible especially if there will be a continuous increase on its market value for a long period of time. But for now, since the market value is downed for approximately 45% the best thing to do is to invest while its price is still low. Given that there are speculations such as this, it will surely be an advantage to invest now and earn huge profit in the future as it is increasing.

If we look at 2017 year we see that, even though everyone is talking about a crash, its price has increased by 10 times! And it was 20 times not long ago. So it's logical to assume that the next year it can increase by a bigger number, due to development of awareness about BTC worldwide. And if it won't be a self-arbitrary process, then Winklevoss will buy all BTC they can to make the price higher  :D

These statements are totally delusional, there is no way to predict things like these, Cryptos and finance in general are chaotic spaces where exact predictions are meaningless. What entitles those two twins to have better ideas that other people?

An increase of such magnitude would imply that bitcoin would be worth around $350,000, which does not seem as unlikely as predicted by people like McAfee or the CEO of Xapo who forecast a price of one million dollars in a few years. Only time will tell us how far the bitcoin can go, however I still believe that there is a lot of room for bitcoin to continue to surprise us because the market is at a very early stage and many good things are yet to come.

No one could predict exactly about bitcoin.Such a high price may be possible in the future but it would take a long run to achieve it.

Wow, that really be interesting but surely it will take a years to come. Of course, many individuals will become millionaire when such price reached but possible scammers will getting strong and spreading around which makes some members will be fool. To much care in our wallet are very important to give no chance of hackers to empty your wallet.

It's always easy to say anything but Bitcoin going as high as $240,000 in a short amount of time is unlikely to happen. We'll need more time and halving events before we see that kind of price become a reality. Before we hit an insane price point the scaling issue should be fixed first because if not then fees would be massive and unconfirmed transactions would start racking up again.

No one know and no guarantee if the multiply 30 to 40 times. Even the statement of Mcafee that in year 2020 price of bitcoin will grow up to 1 million dollar its crazy but no can tell lets find out. I'm sure bitcoin price will rise but to predict when its really hard. I believed its a long term process before the price will break the 20000 dollars record. A lot of good will happen this year so lets wait and watch the price.

It can be correct because  trying to put a price on bitcoin is impossible.  Looking at other factors like regulations  and others can determine  the true price of bitcoin  at that  time

Why so? we've had a jump from $3,226 to $19,086 in 2 months ~600% so why not again, even if it goes up for the same amount that would be ~48,000$. Also, some guy (forgot his name) that predicted the prices in 2015,2016 and 2017 said that the price will hit $200k this year.

also bitcoin is recovering from last month fall so it will soon go to predicted value. but it is all a possibility! market is so volatile neither of us dont know what will happen, so for now lets wait what is coming.

Personally, I don't expect the prices to increase beyond $100,000 per coin. At this point, the market cap of Bitcoin will rise to somewhere close to $2 trillion. And in my opinion, this is the maximum that Bitcoin can achieve (for comparison, the total market cap of gold is around $6 trillion).

Don't expect a whole lot. That sort of easy money scheme will never happen.

Price will grow up for sure, but it is difficult to say exactly the specific amount of rise and the specific period of time for it.

Bitcoin price multiplying 30 - 40 times is possible in the future and it can only happen 5 to 10 years from now if things remain same as it stands now.

I this year expect the growth of bitcoin to levels of 100-130K $, in the future, of course, such growth is possible as you wrote, but I do not think that it will be soon! I'm sure that the crypt will only grow!
