Title: [CEX.IO] Keeping your money/bitcoin hostage since whenever. Post by: dbpopescu on February 08, 2018, 01:43:33 PM Right now I'm on https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-fraud-about-you chatting with a fraud specialist from their department about filing a fraud report for cex.io.
They've held my bitcoin hostage since the 19th of January citing some bs kyc verification and when I gave them all kyc related documents they asked for a print screen of mining operations which I'm pretty sure 80% of bitcoin traders cannot produce because they are obtained through mining alts or trading them. So yeah ... here's a print screen if @CEX thinks I'm joking. https://imgur.com/a/PM71v Solve this in 24-48 hours or the complaint goes through and then you can solve it with the fraud dept of uk police. If you're gonna keep my heard earned bitcoin after hoodling for 4 years at least say it out right don't invent bs requirements and keep it in limbo pending forever. Post by: Slow death on February 08, 2018, 06:19:09 PM Is really very annoying what these sites do to their customers, but only you do some research you realize that these sites have thousands of users and fewer than 80 Staffs to answer the support tickets and many of these Staffs who work in the support has no knowledge of laws
You already tried to send PM to this guy: c-cex (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=220467) he is active in the forum and solves people's problems Title: Re: [CEX.IO] Keeping your money/bitcoin hostage since whenever. Has something similar happened to any of you guys here ? Title: Re: [CEX.IO] Keeping your money/bitcoin hostage since whenever. Post by: pinkflower on February 09, 2018, 02:54:42 AM Been seeing CEX complaints over and over now. I think this is time to worry and to start advising everyone to stay clear from that exchange. Being a small exchange that never made it to becoming one of the top exchanges, theres a possibility that they might be having financial problems.
I expect them to close down soon. But CEX is not a scam. They might pay all of you, but it will take some time. Title: Re: [CEX.IO] Keeping your money/bitcoin hostage since whenever. I mean there is really nothing they can do as a company if they were a regulated businesses falling under the jurisdiction of a country which provides these ID documents. If they're asking for mining proofs then they have their reasoning, but it's a bit too harsh at least imo. I doubt reporting them to that site will help. But at least hopefully it'll speed up their communication with you. Cex.io has been having a lot of problems. Not a good sign. Title: Re: [CEX.IO] Keeping your money/bitcoin hostage since whenever. Post by: warningsigns on February 10, 2018, 03:23:14 AM I doubt Amber understood what the whole story was about. Very generalized response to you, probably the same template or generic response given to those reaching out to them. She didn’t even ask about certain case-specific issues related to what you were telling her which would make you really feel that she is concerned and genuinely interested. I’m sure they are overwhelmed with complaints from all over the UK, including petty stuff like being shortchanged a few cents by a supermarket or being cheated of Arsenal tickets on Craigslist etc.
I suggest you keep trying to resolve the situation with the exchange directly. That might be the best way forward. |
