Title: Bitcoin in Korea back on track
Post by: nguyenhoven on February 09, 2018, 04:18:58 PM
Good news, it seems crypto in Korea is getting back on track, as Bithub managed to implement new KYC. Seems like beginning of something huge to me :)

From the beginning there was no plan to ban cryptocurrencies in Korea. It was just a rumor to manipulate the market. Those who made it, took the advantage lower prices.

Korea is just trying to stop illegal activities such as money laundering.

The people involved with cryptocurrencies in Asian countries such Korea Japan and China present a huge number specially in Korea so there is no way that their country try to ban bitcoin , even in India the statement of the financial minister was misunderstood and defamed by the media to get people scared and spread the panic , no way that countries banning cryptocurrencies till now so this is not good news because it was never a question for getting scared . Bitcoin will continue his career with increasing the potential and with more people getting in the field .

When the rumors of Korea's prohibition spread, I think there is still no certainty and luckily that was not true. I think Korea is also a potential crypto market, and it is good news for the Korean nation to accept the crypto, perhaps it will contribute to the rise of the crypto.

This is a good news for the bitcoin, in the past one week, we have been spread news about South Korea banned the currency trading, people panic selling COINS, led to the slump in the bitcoin
Now the news can make people feel more confident about bitcoin, and they can hold it more firmly.

This is good news and i'm very happy to hear it.
What you guys (nguyenhoven (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1402854), Rozita (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1045081), cho99 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=923226) and OMGyasuo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=945586)) say, is true according to the real circumstances. With the information from all of you, i really hope, this can resuscitate bitcoin users who still 'lay'.

From the beginning there was no plan to ban cryptocurrencies in Korea. It was just a rumor to manipulate the market. Those who made it, took the advantage lower prices.

Korea is just trying to stop illegal activities such as money laundering.

But Tether has modified the news from the real situation into a 'provocation' (called FUD) and this caused panic among the bitcoin users and crypto users.

Yeah I am with this one and would like to think in the same manner. What we saw until now was just the FUD and way to make people feared. This leads to situations like panic sell and then dropped market of the crypto currency. This drop later on can cause the wrong impressions on new investors and people who got stuck into crypto at wrong time like this.

Hopefully this good news will spread amongst the people too and they will learn how it is not bad for the investing into crypto.

Another good news for the field of cryptocurrencies. A while ago, there is a thread about Russia allowing all the cryptocurrencies in their territory, and then now, Korea is on it. This is a great news for everyone most of all for investors and those who hold a large amount of bitcoin or other tokens. Price will hike soon once our world accept it one by one. That huge for you is what everyone is expecting this year and we hope that skyrocket will be bigger than the highest point of bitcoin.

Good thing it's already been cleared up; South Korean officials, just like any other government officials in the world only wants to regulate bitcoin and prevent illegal activities from flourishing in their countries through the use of bitcoin and nothing more. It's just that some media sources like to rumble words and make it look like something negative comes up, that's why whenever most people read bitcoin regulations they already think that it's the government trying to prevent any growth possible in a certain region/country. A great move, and could possibly regain confidence to some investors and traders.

There is no way to circumvent this, is there? Major news outlets will never stop using sensationalist titles for crypto related news, doesn't matter whether right or wrong. And since cryptocurrencies are so prone to be affected by news and social media, I feel like every time some major government wants to implement some new crypto regulation, we are going to experience these price drops every single time.

Yes, it is a good news for the bitcoin, the south Korean government accepted the legitimacy of the bitcoin, it will be beneficial to the development of the bitcoin in South Korea, because of the bitcoin in South Korea are protected by law
I think the bitcoin will become more popular in Korea, it will soon become just like Japan, the bitcoin  circulation in China is very good, will have more stores accept COINS to pay, it will be a very good thing

Bithump, a Korean cryptocurrency exchange, stated that with the integration of KYC procedures mandated by the financial services commission, investors can confirm their real identity through accounts at 2 banks in the country. So with the KYC, new and existing investors can go on trading according to the rules of the commission. So cryptocurrencies have nothing to fear in Korea.

Yes government are now slowly adopting the blockchain technology and there is no hard evidence that they will ban these new currency but they are making some ways to prevent people of their country to get away from people who uses bitcoin as front to scam others. in fact Korea made their move to put taxes to their citizen who are involved in cryptocurrency and that means that they acknowledge these new technology.

Great news for the growth of Bitcoin, and cryptocurrencies, in South Korea.
I feel like Bitcoin in SK has always been very well received by the public, and even the govt, but over the last few months there's been so many negative reports, as well as the spread of misinformation, rumours and FUD that made it look like something bad was going to happen to cryptocurrencies. I feel like all they needed was to enforce these new regulations in order to see a greater acceptance of cryptocurrencies.

I never understood why there was so much FUD regarding South Korea, because for me it was quite obvious that they were never really thinking on banning crypto. The same thing goes for Russia and India in my opinion, but let's wait and see. I would like to see how the investigations regarding the possibility of inside trading will end. For me, this was just market manipulation, and I hope people will eventually get it.

South Korea has always been loyal to the crypto currency, and the latest controversial news coming from this country somehow did not link with the country's policy in the field of cryptography. Therefore it is good that the negative news turned out to be false. Someone skillfully conducted the game to lower the rate of bitcoin.

Yes, you are right. That's why investors should learn how to differentiate and filter out which one is fake and which one is real news because media has the power to spun everything out of control. That's why during the South Korea and India news about regulations was announced, everything went out of control causing the market to crash.

But if you will just have to read between the lines, both nations did not say anything about banning it, however, the media has sensationalized the news and 'deceived' the public such that it looks like India And South Korea has already put the hammer ban which is not the case.

Based on what im seeing in Korea the main issue is tax payments to the state , point is if your making money then Korea needs to be making money too, when you look at all the steps and actions that they have made banning bitcoins dosent seem to be a end result of anyone of those moves , yes they have banned investors from opening new accounts but this is clearly a means of preventing new people entering without having a proper hold on the current players. Infact the threat is to shutdown those exchanges that are not following some laws that they have come up with,  so its clear what Korea wants is regulation and tax collection.

Korea's issue about banning bitcoin was trending last time and it is a good news because crypto currency in their country has back on track. One of the reasons why bitcoin value fell was because of some country, banning bitcoins which include Korea. It was the same case with India which went out to be legalized in their country and can be accepted for transactions. I think, it has one of the factors why cryptocurrency turned out to be controlled causing the market not be crashed.

From the start I never believed the stories that governements were going to ban Bitcoin usage. What they do want to do is put in place stricter controls so that individuals interacting with exchanges can be easily identified and this at some future point will lead to taxation of profits I would wager.

what is seen by me from korea, it is a mature action for an improvement and renewal of the future crypto currency to minimize criminal and money laundering by irresponsible people or groups about the ban on Korea I think it is for an action and a transaction which harm the state and society a lot. I commend the Korean government in this case with a short enough time to be able to control the condition to be conducive to safe and secure.

I think that is a quite good news because we might now that Korea is one of the greatest country in the world in term of technology development. Not just K-pop and E-sport that is so popular there, but this kind of business is also popular I guess. In my opinion, there are various Asian countries who are bann the Bitcoin. But some of them are already back up and recover. In other words, those countries are starting unbann the Bitcoin from their country and start to support them. I guess that is very good so that the Bitcoin will grow and become more useful in a country like that.

You know what man, as what the other people here are trying to say, there really was no plan to ban bitcoins in korea even on india. this is Simply because a lot of people in these countries can really benefit from bitcoins. No matter what the banks and the governments say, there is really no denying that fact. there are absolutely no other people to blame here but the media itself and the bosses running it. The media always does this to make their stories sell. All they think about are themselves and no one else. Unless this thing changes, there will always be misunderstandings that will cause a lot of fud. But anyways man, thanks for this news man. really nice to be seeing great news on times like this when almost every thread we see are negative ones.

Terrible move towards centralization. The only positive thing you can say about it is: Better than a total ban...

The government wants to know who is trading, how much you are trading, what currencies you are trading, what you are doing with your money, everything they want to know! It was so simple years ago... You could hear about Bitcoin on the internet and on the next minute be already earning it online... Very simple as it should be...

It's great to hear that Korea is back on track with cryptocurrencies. Majority of daily volume is from Korea and they definitely drive the price up. Most innovations happen there too. This means that it's good progress for the cryptocurrency economy.

I think it is NOW the general public's responsibility to only listen and read news from legit broadcasts and newspapers of general circulation. It is because the era has come whereby the public is fueled with misinformation brought about by the birth of social medias. Through this channel, people abuse the power of the freedom of speech by disseminating false news just so they could benefit from the destruction of others' reputation or social standing. Since almost everything is within reach, coupled with the fact that everyone can just write up what they like without having to pass through certain regulatory standards, the propagation of misinformation has become the norm. Hence, I believe when we cannot control the false sources, we can control what we want to believe in. In relation to this, the write up saying that Korea has banned Bitcoin is clearly a false news. I just hope as readers, we become cautious of who and what to believe in because a little misinformation can cause so much. In this case, Bitcoin's price has greatly suffered.

Korea never banned Bitcoin, they just want more transparency which is eventually good - when any government proposes tax on your Bitcoin Profit (as Israel) - it means they just legalizes it in the other words.

I don't know how this thread come up generalizing Korea back on track? When did Korea set its feet out of crypto / bitcoin?

Korea never banned Bitcoin, they just want more transparency which is eventually good - when any government proposes tax on your Bitcoin Profit (as Israel) - it means they just legalizes it in the other words.
Yeah I haven't read any legit news from Korea or South Korea to be exact that they have banned bitcoin.

now the market is starting to move up, lots of crypto that turns green.
It's not the real reason why the market is green now, this news came up few weeks ago so probably the uptrend is due to the move of circle.

Yeah and they're implimenting a couple.of regulations that may nit sit well with some traders like having their information registered with their account. Though its a lot better than having an actual.ban and it, in a way, makes it safer for their citizens who are trading

Those times they banned it, they just made some rules and studying it maybe they see that there's a benefit for it, they will just restrict more now.soon many countries will remove the banning since they will identify its importance.

We are not quite trough yet. Subject is still under investigation. The goverment seems quite open towards blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. However a lack of transparency in whats is really going on (money laundring, tax evation, etc.) makes them think about regulating the market. Time will tell!

Rumors a few weeks ago that Korea has issued bitcoin bans. But these are just rumors that are not real, those rumors have seriously reduced the bitcoin price. But the reality is that Korea only offers more stringent policies in bitcoin deals in their country. They have no intention of stopping the bitcoin. Because of this reason, bitcoin prices have increased again.

Yes very excited to see Korea move past all of this, Korea is very far in front of the west in terms of cryptocurrency adoption. It would be good to see some constructive regulation out of the area so the country and continue to lead.

From the beginning there was no plan to ban cryptocurrencies in Korea. It was just a rumor to manipulate the market. Those who made it, took the advantage lower prices.

Korea is just trying to stop illegal activities such as money laundering.
I agree with you, korea deliberately take advantage of these rumors. and this is good news, I'm sure in the near future, bitcoin will recover. and now is the right time for you to buy.

Good news, it seems crypto in Korea is getting back on track, as Bithub managed to implement new KYC. Seems like beginning of something huge to me :)

Korea has no intention to ban cryptocurrency, they just want to regulate it to avoid money laundering and avoid scam. They just want to protect their citizen from opportunist that tries to rob the investors money. Only corrupt country would try to ban Cryptocurrency.

I was not moved by the rumors. The things I read will have to select and summarize my experiences. And in this market too, you should not completely believe in what you read. It is because of the people's movement of rumors that caused the market to fluctuate.

More like a cryptocurrency nation is alive again. Hoping that korea will continue to support cryptocurrency as it has been a big factor on its growth. Korean government did an awesome job to prevent bitcoin and other cryptocurrency from being down while helping their citizen choose which way they want that they could earn a decent amount of money.

I think bitcoin was never removed from korea because the value only takes a dump not only on their country but through out the world. So i think the price was now getting back and you should change the title as bitcoins price is back on track.

Anyway, it is still good news since this will put the mind of those weak hands at peace. Having written news that it is just regulation they are after will put the ban FUD at bay.

This is a good news. Korea seemed like a country where so much strict regulations on cryptocurrencies was emphasized. I am in support of regulating cryptocurrencies in order to prevent financial crisis but selfishness must not be involved.
Many will be happy about this development.

I think the number of South Korean community support responded directly by making an online petition, then post the petition on the site of the South Korean Presidency. Recorded in the petition, it has been endorsed by approximately 170,000 names, over the ban of digital currency may make the carousel to be used for cryptocurrency and make the market recover

By classification of the commission on financial crimes at the Ministry of Finance of the USA Bitkoyn is referred to as "decentralized virtual currencies". Often bitcoin is called "crypto currency".
