Some of the important Banks in Australia is allowing their customer to purchase cryptocurrency using their Bank account. Because of this, bitcoin can now be easily purchased in Australia.

I think this will be the start, hopefully, other banks around the world will follow so we will have a convenient way to buy and selling cryptocurrency to fiat.

That's very good news and The Central Bank of India (rbi) has also started accepting it. I think all the banks are planning to take a large amount of tax from all the Bitcoiner and other cryptocurrency users. Although the article did search everything still I doubt that some UK banks do accept Bitcoin payments or not. Because some days ago all the banks are trying to ban Bitcoin but all of a sudden most banks started accepting cryptocurrencies I don't know what they are after but and sure they are planning something. But at least now people will have some faith in us and they will join the Bitcoin community and will ride the roller coaster with us.

News like this will help hugely to dissipate the FUD that was floating around recently, since a lot of governments were not giving clear signals about what exactly they were thinking about cryptocurrencies. Things are starting to get better new, and developments like this will only make things better.

But at least they took the right direction and are trying to embrace cryptocurrencies, hopefully more banks will follow their footsteps.

That are the big news. I said once if a big country like India accepts cryptocurrency or let it free in their country everyting changes. This news are just starts of bitcoin's rise. I hope everything will be good.

That's a good news and Australia is the amateur county in the world. so I have congras to republic of Australian gov. I think, they are right work for Australian bank allowing people to buy bitcoin because bitcoin is a expensive coin for online.

That’s a good news. If there will be more and more banks and government institutions supporting bitcoin, people instead of worrying will consider putting their money into bitcoin because they have the back of the governments and the banks. It will also increase the demand of bitcoin and so the price will also rise.

What about AML??? They should protect system from money laundering. Freedom of cryptocurrencies can be very harmful. It creates not only economical freedom for ordinary people, but also for dirty politics, crime, human traffic, drugs and terrorism.

I was thinking the same way, I think banks top management did this so that the price of BTC will go down, and now they are starting to accept it because I think they also want to participate in it, They just wanted to buy from the deep in order for them to profit.

Well this is really good news for bitcoin. It increases the trust of users with bitcoin. It opens up new hopes for the development of bitcoins. I am sure the value of bitcoin will soon be restored. Hopefully many banks will accept bitcoin ... Bitcoin is growing in a better direction.

1 thing that they want, profit. if they really take any tax about bitcoin transaction it will be good for them and it will be good for bitcoin user because it will have any regulation. it is still better than banned bitcoin without any logical reason

This is positive  news for cryptocurrencies. If other banks follows through,  it can help bitcoin and other  alternatives  currencies  in the future.

That is one very good news, bitcoin will get stronger with many supporting countries. I also hope that there are many countries that support bitcoin, especially if becomes an official payment tool. surely everyone will be happy.

Buying bitcoin in my country is not an issue at all even though our government do not support bitcoin market, they did not issue regulations prohibiting bitcoin exchanges and transactions. It is a good thing that country clearly stated and show that they support bitcoin, I hope more country will do the same and help bitcoin community to grow more

Australian governments besides banks have allowed people to cash their btc from banks and pay an income tax for the money that comes from crypto which is a sign of adaptation.

This has not necessarily something to do with countries or banks supporting Bitcoin at all. It has to do with people being able to do what they want with their own money. It once again shows that people here don't care to read the articles itself, but just purely see the title of a thread, and have that be their only source of information to start writing garbage. Am I being too negative here now? Should I act like all other empty headed posters and celebrate something that I am allowed to use my money how I want to use it? Ok then..... YES! This is absolutely very good news and will help Bitcoin reach $100k before the end of this month. ::)

It is awesome new for bitcoin users.If all bank accept bitcoin,it will be easy and trust worthy for bitcoin buyers.We do believe that one day all government accept bitcoin as bitcoin has a huge market value.

Good to hear that :). After Japan legalized Bitcoin I think Australian realized the advantages of Bitcoin so they also accept it as well. This will be a big move for Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrency. I think in next month or maybe in the end of this month we will be hear more good news about Bitcoin accepted in more country all over the world :).  

Interesting news .. such likes a progress we are expected. one by one financial institution that is expected to include its cryptocurrency services within one of their services. just waiting for another good news from some countries that are constantly seriously reviewing them policy in applying bitcoin as a payment instrument which recognized in their country.

We hope other countries will do the same. If so many banks already accept bitcoin, it means bitcoin will become more powerful in this world. Everyone will be expecting this news will occur in their country. It will be so many advantages for us as the user.

It didn't surprised me at all because Australia is the second country (July 2017) to legalized crypto after Japan. So it really make sense to them to be very lax, including banks and taxes. As for other banks, following their footsteps, I have doubt because we all know that bankers see crypto's as a threat. What we wanted to see more is nations following the footstep of Japan and Australia in embracing bitcoin.

This is great news to our community. Imagine all people in Cryptospace will be more successful. Just wait for a month or a year and get's what we want. Taxes are normal for any exchanges because governments wants to get profitable and wants to help the economy.

Like visa debit cards and credit cards, they can directly transfer money like forex trading & binary options tradings. Banks can have a higher fee for the transfer of money to exchangers which they can profit also. This is a good news because. Hope the FUD will be lessen with this positive media feedbacks.

I love their reason for allowing their countrymen to buy cryptocurrency from them, they want to give a trustworthy service, a service which makes them feel secured. The relationship between those banks and its customers is like a mutualism — both of them are benefited by each other, customers are worry-free knowing that their money is secured and the banks are able to earn in return. This is one of the good news for the development of bitcoin in the world. Hopefully in the future many countries recognize the existence of bitcoin so bitcoin can exist without anyone considering the bitcoin is negative.

Great News once banks allow people to buy bitcoin the price will increase i hope that here in my COUNTRY they will allow people to buy and sell bitcoin on different banks. hope it applies to other countries which i believe the 2nd mass adoption is here again.

we need some time until government understand that it's easier to legalize cryptocurrencies than trying to introduce restrictive measures. hope in 2019 we will easily buy crypto through banks

oh well... Bank only offers personal and commercial banking services including savings accounts, certificates of deposits, checking accounts, loans, credit cards, point of sales and other financial services.In most countries central banks are responsible for the oversight of the commercial banking system of their respective countries. They will impose a number of conditions on the banks that they regulate such as keeping bank reserves and to maintain minimum capital requirements. I think bank wont stop you to buy btc in exchange as well. But buy crypto through bank is a different respective of bank policy, i think because the bank will keep doing protecting customers against potential fraud and other possible scams.

Don't know if there's an official source for this news but anecdotally, this happened to me.

I transferred to BTC Markets on 23/12, received the funds back in my NAB account today 28/12 with no explanation.

Since the banks are accepting , more and more people would be able to buy Bitcoins.
Those who already are in this business but are limited by Bitcoins and those who wanted to join but weren't able to because of banks and also it will spread good influence on people since they will have more trust on Bitcoins this way.
We need more banks like that.

At first I have doubt about the post but when I read the article it's kinda real but I still have doubt about those banks that letting people use their money to buy bitcoins or other crypto currencies. As you have said banks are scared to crypto currencies because they see it as a threat to their business but we are already in the digital age world they need to accept the fact that crypto currencies are part of this. ;D

Japan is genius for making crypto currency legal on their country and japan is very open to new kinds of technologies. 8)

Any positive news about more favourable attitude of banks to cryptos is certainly a GOOD ONE :). But reading the article itself I understand that only several banks from TOP 10 banks in Australia announce dealing with btc.
Such monsters as the National Bank of Australia (NAB) and the  Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) are said to "have taken different regulatory measures." about it. This just reveals the recent situation now in the majority of countries like the US, Australia, Canada or UK where there is duality in reality: on the one hand, a growing group of crypto enrhusiasts either investors or traders eagerly earning from cryptos on the other hand, the rest of the society trying hard to define its attitude about cryptos and hesitating in between horror of FOMO and bubble crash sarcasm.

I am really impressed with Australia's efforts in introducing as well as inculcating advanced technologies like Bitcoin and blockchain. It will definitely help its citizens in the coming era to deal with the blockchain based products. I am expecting similar gesture by the governments around the world to make it user-friendly for the citizens instead of maintaining the uncertain environment.
