Post by: cryptomadu on February 10, 2018, 06:02:24 AM
Do I have to submit KYC for every bounty and do they accept only passport ( no drivers licence ?) ?. I'm  a newbie.

From what I know bounty hunters are not required to submit KYC's as most of the time it is only for investors but then again every bounties have their own rules so you should ask this question on the assigned bounty manager.

Actually, recently some bounties have begun to demand the passage of identification from bounty hunters including, but as far as I know, there is enough passport.

Should that be too much for just a bounty program? KYC is a sensitive information. I do believe its only for Investors during an ICO. I would not dare to give my anonymity in return of a small token. (If they will actually pay and not just a Bogus program)

I think campaigns are requesting the KYC passage to make sure that the participant is not a US citizen.

Regardless, that's not justified. People should think twice before sending off their KYC documents. That goes for investors, too. Bee Token and Sentinel Chain are just two recent examples of ICOs that were compromised and leaked investor KYC data. Is it worth getting your identity stolen over an ICO investment? Probably not, but maybe, if you think you'll 1000x your capital.

Is it worth getting your identity stolen over a bounty hunt? Absolutely not! People should really stop giving their ID to everyone who asks...

I think you don't send kyc for a bounty program. If a bounty program ask you to submit kyc, you can skip that bounty. There are still lots of bounty program that doesn't require to submit kyc. Don't easily send your ID Data to stranger

It is becoming the norm due to the fact that the governments had been strict recently regarding ICOs and also, it is a way for them to keep track of their bounty hunters especially if they want to create a new project, they know who to come to just in case. Any primary ID would work so your driver's license or passport will be valid when applying for KYC verification. But ask this question to yourself: is it really worth it to give my private data and personal info to a service/organization in exchange of a few bucks? Any private info can be sold by these services for all we know, so choose what bounties you would apply and give your personal info to.

Providing KYC documents for bounties is pretty much the antithesis of Bitcoin. Not sure why anyone would participate in campaigns that require you to give up your anonymity.

I think it would be too much. It's become normal that mostly ICO's are asking now to verify your identity. But it's really sensitive information and I'm not giving it to every random ICO. But if Bounty campaign participants are asked to verify identity, I would skip that campaign. There are so many scam or shady bounties and it's likely that they may use our personal information for a bad things. And even if they will pay out, I think it's not worth to sell our sensitive personal information for some tokens.

Please do not accept proposition to load your documents exactly in bounty! Better find another ICO!

If you're going to give out KYC info, just make sure it's really worth it to you. Do your homework on the project and make sure you get well compensated for your efforts.

In my experience I haven't been asked for any KYC info when I've done work for projects, so it's certainly possible to avoid that.

So far, in most of the bounty campaign that I have participated in, I haven't been asked for the KYC. But lately it seems that it has become fashionable to ask bounty participants for the KYC. From the last campaigns that I have finished, I'm being asked for the KYC in three of them.

KYC should not be required for bounties. You are providing a service and being paid. KYC is designed to prevent money laundering and the like, so I'm not sure why that would be necessary.

KYC for bounties? I should hope not. I did not come here to take part in a bounty and give my info for a few bucks. If someone asks you for KYC, choose another bounty. There are plenty here.

I've participated in many bounties campaigns . 2 of 50 requested KYC verification for receving the bounty . So yes they require kyc for withdrawal of the tokens . Be careful there are so many scams and they can steal your identity :) I advise you to participate in bounties without kyc verification

Basically, I support KYC System. Because of Lots of spammer ! They cheat with bounty campaigns and they breake bitcointalk rules too. That' why, KYC is the best way to trace legal user. But most of the bounty campaigns doesn't ask for KYC except few.

KYC is just a requirement of some projects in bounty hunters in order for them to know who are the people behind the bounty because sometimes they are excluding countries for their project. They are also doing that to prevent such cheating in bounty.

Some bounties  are  now demanding kyc from participants, but I knew it was for only investors.  If you are comfortable  submitting  your documents  to strangers, is fine.

KYC IS NOT NECESSARY FOR ANY BOUNTY HUNTER, BUT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO INVESTORS, KYC  SIMPLY MEANS KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER.

I totally agree with your point of view!
It is a shame bounty managers request an identity document just to participate in a bounty campaign, the level of privacy invasion of those people has turned to be unacceptable! My opinion is to avoid such campaigns...

As far as I know, bonus hunters do not have to file KYC because most of the time they are only for investors, but then again the providers have their own rules so you should ask this question. Bonus manager specified.
