Title: Bitgrail NANO hack
Post by: Prodigye on February 10, 2018, 04:45:00 PM
After the bitgrail hack NANO is down 17% to USD,I want to remind people that it was caused by a fault in Bitgrail's system and has nothing to do with NANO. What prospects do you have for NANO in the near future after the hack?

Yes bitgrail exchanges are looks scammy from the start, that is why i moved my NANOs to KuCoin few days ago,and then today this happened to bitgrail, probably the founders of these exchanges are celebrating because they have stolen millons of dollars from the investors and all the users in the exchange, this is the main reason why we shouldnt be putting our tokens to these small exchanges, because exchanges are more prone to hackers that is why they dont recommend to use the exchange as wallet.

Really sucks for people stuck on that exchange, but doesn't seema reflection on the coin at all.

There is a reflection on the coin, the most visible one is in its price which dropped 16% (satoshi). Also, don`t forget the fact that right now almost 13% of the total supply of NANO is in the hands of the hacker and we can only speculate about his further plans. I empathize with the people who lost large sums on Bitgrail and I hope they will get some compensation from NANO dev team funds (the amount is huge, I presume they can`t afford to compensate 100%), after all they promoted this unknown exchange (I never heard about it until I saw RaiBlocks markets on CoinMarketCap). The community have faith in the tech, but right now I sense mixed feelings about the team because there are so many people affected and they feel like devs should support them somehow.

Hacked or the owner it self who hack it ? I mean from the begining that exchanger smell fishy isnt it ? and the price dropping is pretty normal actually, if you ask why it because other peoplo who still hold nano wory that the hacker would sell all his stolen nano masively into exchanger and cause the price drop. so holder sell his coin first. Thats my opinion though.

It is unfortunate to see another cryptocurrency exchange get hacked.  Not sure how much trading volume they have been producing but they should somehow have a plan to compensate the members that were affected by this hack, similar to what Coincheck is doing.
