What you like to see happen:
  • Wait for Avalon Gen 2 Chips then build out orders and 20% "Coupon" on Next Venture
  or
  • 100% Refund right now

Im gonna go with a slightly different option

I think TH should allow a 70% return and give the 20% coupon as well
Leaving them 10% to build the gen 2 klondike for their own profit/cloudfarm

I and most others will probably reinvest the rest back with you once you have everything up and running

What you like to see happen: I would like a 100% refund right now, but I am willing to settle for 50% now and another 50% in a period of 3 months.

I would also consider 70 refund
And 20 percent towards a 50 50 reinvest if there was no extra preorder garbage

An upgrade package is only worth it if:

1. It includes a 20% coupon for a future Terrahash product.
2. The 55nm chip can hash at 2.5gig or better.
3. The price doesn't go up.
4. They can be converted to thrashers & shipped to my door by December 1st.

If this can be done, then I have two 18gig machines that I want upgraded.

That being said, I would like to get my 4.5 gig machine with the 110nm chips.
It will make for a nice new toy to play with.
Peace.

Thanks Bargraphics
It will be nice to have a thread devoted to getting things done

I would prefer if they could offer me some sort of product with a hashrate that reflects when units will be shipped.

5GH/s for $250 was only a good deal if it had been shipped in August. If they ship me 5GH/s unit in 3 months it will be a total waste of time and money. If they could ship me like a 10GH/s unit for what I paid when they are ready (provided I can get close to ROI at that power) - that would be acceptable.

For me it's wait for avalon gen 2.

Some calculations if gen 2 is 10 x faster and fully backward compatible.

A k16 will be 45 gh
A k64 will be 180 Gh.

Around $5 per gh

if difficulty rises 25% every 11 days and delivery is  on December 4 , It will roi in btc by February 26, 2014.

http://btcinvest.net/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=86933017.771194&dcosts=250&diff_mincrease=25&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=45000&diff_mincreasedecrease=0.2&btcusd=130&dpowcon=70&btcusd_mincrease=0&pcost=0.11&calcweeks=25&dleadtime=8&action=calc#

It will all depend on how much will bitsyncom sell its chips and can they really deliver by end of oct.

The disadvantage of this is we are at the mercy of bitsyncom again.
Posssible Advantage is chips may be  sold at a cheaper price to win back customers.

The problem is that one can't make a rational decision when all the facts are not known.

Unknowns:

1. We don't know the hash rate of the Avalon generation 2 chip.

2. We don't know when the chips can be shipped. (according to Steamboat it may be late November)

3. We still do not have any proof that the k16, let alone the k64, actually work. (Steamboat himself admits they still don't have a working k16, Terrahash has never proved it (code is not necessarily proof) and no one on the entire Klondike open-source thread has claimed victory and shown proof)

Question:
If while we are waiting for more information to answer 1-3, the 110nm chips are mailed off to Terrahash, does this lock us into the agreement and we have no chance to upgrade?

Other Issues:

A.  It appears that the open-source Klondike group has fallen apart (BKKcoin, the one that was the brains behind it, states that he doesn't even have a floor to work on, amongst other family stresses, and has appeared to have backed out), and the work isn't completed yet.

B.  Even if they are 2.5gig, Avalon has shown they can't meet shipping deadlines.

Thoughts:
I want to help out with research & development to support open-source projects, but a complete systemic failure is occurring here.

No, it doesn't.

I want more information.

Based on the lack of data, it is impossible to make an informed decision at this point.
We need to ask them for more information, then get a tally.

What you would like to see happen: 100% Refund right now

Note: I posted multiple tickets with refund requests on the support page. My first refund request from July 4 was due to missing update/email for 2 weeks based on Terrahash own comment (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=198489.msg2520692#msg2520692).

On July 9 I received following reply from Amir:

Quote
All the products are made on order. We are unable to process your refund at this time, as we have already invested your money into sourcing the components and other equipment. Your products would be delivered within the promised time-frame

I tried to contact him again on this matter but that was the last reply from him on this matter.

What you would like to see happen:

Use money paid for next venture

Or

100% refund ASAP

I have changed my mind.  I am no longer interested in doing business with TerraHash and I would appreciate a full refund ASAP or I will be contacting an attorney.

Yea, me too.  Given that they were 'ready' for so long and 'just waiting on chips'  but couldn't fill one order on time when given his chips speaks volumes.  Change my preference to just refund my BTC, I have no interest in being part of the next BFL ;p

Bar, what if TH is only doing the next step, having no time to chat ... and preparing and working on the next plans? Mybe is that?

I hope that is what they are doing, but there's no excuse for not being on the forum for 7+ days with very little communication even prior to that.

That in combination with not answering their phone/tickets/emails isn't something we as customers can risk now. We've given them more than enough time to sort out their plans, I still hope they will come communicate and resolve this before it comes down to a lawsuit.

I'll spare you the obligitory lawyer cat meme and Bitcoin Police reference, but will note you got a strike on Activemining and another on Terrahash.

Will you wait for a third strike to let me try and turn your portfolio around?

Only 50BTC up front and 20% of profits.

He's fun to watch though.. It's almost like that guy sitting at the blackjack table at 3am, so focused on winning after many trips to the ATM, just tilting and throwing cash on the table, hoping to hit it big. I don't think he's ready to admit his strategy is very flawed.

In the case of TH, his path has been:

  • Blind support of TH, complete with cheerleading and collecting "badges" by attacking anyone that mentioned the slightest negative comment about Terrahash or stating that people should get a refund
  • Next, he attempted to become the spokesperson in this thread to negotiate the proper path for refunds, and stated that he was the best person to do it with his relationship with them. That didn't seem to pan out, so he then went to the next step.
  • To save some more face, he is trying to rally the people left to him and organize legal action. His initial posts made it sound like it was already in progress, but then points out last night that he just contacted a lawyer. Anyone previously mentioning getting a lawyer in the TH thread was quickly attacked by Bar, but I guess it's okay now.

I dunno, if I made a bad decision and hadn't used a method of payment that allowed me a full refund, I sure wouldn't want to put hope in him based on his track record! I think someone should form a quick offering and get Bar behind them while he is in full tilt mode.
