Title: [letsdice.com] profit when your friends are also probably winning; and JACKPOT!
Post by: towtoad on September 11, 2013, 02:26:02 PM
On-chain and Off-chain mode

Introduced and popularized by just-dice.com, off-chain betting system is quite revolutionary, and letsdice.com follows and is trying to make it more user friendly (as a courtesy to JD).

While off-chain mode is fun, on-chain mode is somehow more secure and reliable, which is why letsdice.com keeps it as a special feature, and makes it completely compatible with satoshidice.com (as a tribute to SD).

LD (letsdice.com) features a JACKPOT, which is exciting:

The House Edge 1% or 1.98%?
The basic house edge of letsdice.com is 1.98% (Since we're trying to have both on-chain and off-chain mode, which is compatible to SD).

However, here's the main point: out of 1.98%, 0.48% goes to the JACKPOT (to players), and 0.5% goes to the players' referral rewards (to players). Therefore, in the end, the house only keeps 1%.

Build-in betting bot

While it's pretty tedious to placing bet manually, letsdice.com provides a building bot betting for you, it's fully customizable.

Invites your friends, profit with their probable winning

(Data extracted from the first day of public beta)

You can invites your friends to play, and the system will place them into your tree, no matter they are winning or losing, you get rewards calculated by the wagered (rather than "profit"). Chances are both your friend and you are happy!

...coming

When officially launched, there will be a simplified version of betting: true dice!

To tell the TRUTH: We're taking Multi-Level Marketing to a brand new level. Not all MLM fall into Ponzi scheme. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-level_marketing

This doesn't look like MLM or Network Marketing. I've been involved with several of those brick and mortar types, and I'm not ashamed to admit I used to get vitamins from my brother who joined Amway (Nutrilite) many years ago.

PrimeDice and CoinRoll both had off-chain betting before Just-Dice was launched.

And what on earth does this have to do with courtesy?  Copying JD's and others' innovations while doubling the house edge doesn't seem very courteous to me.

1. I respect your work.
2. LD is not a simple copycat of JD. (this is the copycat: btc-dice.com)
3. The house edge isn't relevant to this discourse.

Are those the vitamins you gave to the president/PM of your country?

What's with the "profit when your friends are also probably winning" line?  That seems misleading.

You profit when they bet, win or lose, right?

And since you have the biggest house edge around, they're more likely to be losing than on any other dice site.

Maybe change it to "your friends will probably lose but who cares because we'll give you your cut"?

It's not misleading. Every word in that sentence is considerate. :)

I've updated the post with follows:

The House Edge: 1% or 1.98%?
The basic house edge of letsdice.com is 1.98% (Since we're trying to have both on-chain and off-chain mode, which is compatible to SD).

However, here's the main point: out of 1.98%, 0.48% goes to the JACKPOT (to players), and 0.5% goes to the players' referral rewards (to players). Therefore, in the end, the house only keeps 1%.

Right now it's a fake coin for testing.

All the people testing/betting now will still be there after launch or the site will reset?

I really want to be on the tree as high as possible.

Wait so your telling me that the 0.48% (which amounts to a little less than 25% of the house take) of the pot goes to the Jackpot, which more than likely going to dusters playing your site for a sahosti, because the amount of rolls increases your chances of winning.

Then you telling me 0.5% (25% of house take) goes to the players referral rewards, namely the player who did the referral.

Then the 1% house take (50% of profits)

So lets say I refer Doog who decides to make a run at your pot and loses 200 BTC, I get 25% (50 BTC) of it with referrals, the Jackpot gets ~24.5% (49 BTC) and the house gets 50% (100 BTC)

If I was an investor I would be pissed, because they are taking the real chance of losses with investment and not truly reaping rewards, because imo it limits your inticement of playing with 2% -ev, this should also keep larger players away from your site, imo.

I actually get the whole referral system as this is usual in casino sportsbooks but at that rate its almost ridiculious imo.

Now for someone like me who rarely plays "dice" games I find a couple of dump big bankroll guys and send them to your site maybe its a good deal, or I might just run you bot on weeks on end till i roll XX.7777.

Imo if you change the 1.98% to 1.098% with jackpot at 0.0498% and refers at 0.05%, that actually attracts interest and whales wont see this as a disadvantage.

**Unless of course someone makes the refers all to themselves, for larger players who did not get referred**

You missed one thing, to win the jackpot, your roll must have a bet of 0.1 BTC or higher. So, no dust bets will ever win it. (Read this on the site)

Jackpot won and money that you can't put in your pocket, leave the house and bring it to home sounds no good at all!

I guess a FAQ explaining everything would clarify those issues...

Good luck Mr. operator.

The site is good and needs only some more minor polishing.

But at the moment withdrawals are taking WAY too long to be processed.

Myself won't play with house edge > 1%.  Others might play, but together with your BOT, you are making players more easy to proof they are in disadvantage of 1.9% ... in long run, fewer and fewer players I doubt.
