Having an older account in no way impacts your "trust" level on the forum, that's a completely seperate system.

New accounts could be easily detected as alts but old accounts is more immune. This accounts is good for promoting services, products, alt coins, for giveaways,  for bumping your threads, for voting and many other that could stimulate your business. And a couple of alts is also good to fight back trolls.

Yeah man this is some fuck upped shit going on here.
Are Admins not looking at this subforum or what?

It is sick and nothing better than that to in the first place sell these damn things, and the second placeto buy them.

OP obviously knows that 99/100 of the accounts he will never sell will be used to scam people and this is to be taken seriously...

Are there many instances where a scammer has paid $10-$100 for an old account, made posts, gained reputation, then scammed someone?

Made posts and rep? Nah. It's always just buying accounts and using them straight away, like the good ole' legitnick case:

http://gyazo.com/b59276d6d272a825600c29ca4f09b470.png

(yes, the real legitnick did sell his account, he didn't personally partake in the scams)

I got offered 1BTC for my account way back (few months ago). Obviously I didn't sell, I was just wondering how much accounts are worth. I believe the user who offered me this has now become inactive/banned. I believe they also was using others account for scamming purposes.

He was offering all hero members 1BTC, which back then I was only recently the system changed. I believe he was offering all accounts above newbie for something like 0.2. But, I can't remember. I wouldn't advise you to sell your account.

If someone offered me 0.5 let alone 1 , I would sell it without a second tought :D I would pay my debt and still come out on top with 0.2 bitcoins :D Which would be enough for me to buy a dozen books from amazon that I want.

So if it is allowed should I just open an topic that states I am selling my account?

Considering nearly all purchasers are scammers and now your account is noted as a possible scam account due to you wanting to sell it in public? Nah.

It's a good thing he/she has announced it! People can either ignore it or be very wary of the account now.

Of course there is. I've sold more than 30 accounts months ago. During the time when thymos disabled the registration. And right now someone is interested to buy all my accounts. This completely legit accounts. I've hired posters to do the posting to raise its status.

That is still a bit weird, I can understand that someone would want mutiple old accounts to create some activity on a thread but I think that some people could also use these accounts to hack, do you check on what the buyers do with the accounts?

If someone wants to make money from the signature deals, most pay per post so I don't see the point of buying an account

If you want to profit from the deals that pays per week with a low minimum posts to make I guess it can make sense or if you are a newbie with some btc and you don't want to wait until you get to Jr status or more but it still feels pretty weird to buy an account instead of just posting and getting the Jr status by yourself, it isn't that hard

I don't all the people who buy these accounts use them for scamming, a big part probably buys them so they can enter the signature campaigns..

Is this a joke  >:( >:( I wonder why mods aren't deleting craps like these. Its totally unethical and must be illegal to sell forum accounts and sell them to a scammer who can later use them in ripping of users and abusing the trust system .
One vote up for this thread to get deleted >:(

The mods allow it, because now everybody knows that it happens. Removing it completely is impossible and way to time intensive.

This is no joke folks. I'm selling here for many months now and I'm not the only one selling around. I have doubt that this johny guy is dannyjr alt. He is just killing competition.

This is business and my business is legit. I'm like selling a knife you can use it to cut vegetables or use it stab someone. It is the buyer's choice. If his intention is to hurt someone he will find a way to hurt someone even without my knife.

There's no other intention than to hurt someone.

I don't know who's dannyjr and idk why I should know him.

Because when I click on "Show new replies to your posts" there's always only your post. I'm not watching that section so I don't know his thread.

I did not say it's illegal, the only thing I said was that it's not ethical.
