Title: Which wallet to store my altcoins?
Post by: Efendix on February 11, 2018, 10:37:43 AM
Hello,

I have bought through several exchanges an important amount of altcoins. I also have bought a Ledger Nano S wallet.
Some altcoins that I have bought are supported by my Ledger wallet (via integrated application or via MyEtherWallet for most ERC20 altcoins).

However, there is some altcoins that aren't supported neither by Ledger apps nor MyEtherWallet. Here some examples:

- Verge (XVG)
- Steem (STEEM)
- Factom (FCT)
- ...

I know that I can add custom token on MyEtherWallet. However, how can I find out which ones I can add as custom tokens?
Or is there another option to stock my altcoins on an offline wallet other?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Here you will find all erc20 token
https://etherscan.io/tokens (https://etherscan.io/tokens)
and here you can search the token with name and find the address, decimals and symbol
https://ethplorer.io/   (https://ethplorer.io/)
and now read a little and in an hour you can do it perfectly. good luck

Thanks for your reply. I have also find the tutoriel to add the custom tokens:

Let's take Steem as example. Do I have choose the first one? Is that Steem, why is there "VERI.STEEM"?

What about Einsteinium (EMC2):

Does that mean that EMC2 isn't and ERC20 token?

Thanks

Yes, correct.

In this case, which option's do I have to stock them in a secure way?
I don't want to let them on my wallet on the exchange.

The only option is to use their official wallet?

There is other altcoins that aren't ERC20 tokens and that haven't their own wallets. Is the exchange the only possibility to stock them?

Yes, the only option for some coins is to store them in their official wallets.

Which coins haven't their own wallet? As far as I know, any coin with a blockchain has its own wallet...
