Got 50 merit for a post like this
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2890431.msg29712339#msg29712339

I can't say they are related but if this is how merit will be used. It is killing the system

Yes it is allowed. As long as he is not giving merits to his alt accounts/selling merits, there is no problem in distributing in which ever ways he finds it useful. That post looks like a trash to to you but  maybe the merit giver actually finds it interesting ? It is subjective.

I often come across group of people/friends giving merits to one another, people in the same signature campaigns giving merits to one another and so on.If that is not questionable, this shouldn't be.

The merit giver is the one who posted that thread
and by the looks of it
They are on the same project.
That kind of reply would be normal if you ask me
I would like to hear the opinion of other reputable members

It's not killing the system.  People are misusing merits, yes.  But that means they won't be a source, and their abuse will end.

Let the system shake out the scammers and cheaters that are already high ranked and have sMerit -they won't for long.

It seems that hkdfgkdf (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1184165) is an alt of pinkman12345 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=288496) or they are working in the same project as a team.
But definitely this post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2890431.msg29712339#msg29712339) doesn't deserve 50 sMerits even someone is too much generous. Misusing merits is unacceptable and it is more unacceptable when it happens by high ranked members.

Why do you want to have a share of "that Merit"?? Care to tell us?

Let me guess you want to rank up and join some campaign to get paid by shitposting through the forum. The reason for the merit system was to curb that  ::)

BTW are you asking for merit? Im curious and I am waiting for your response.

Yes, I do. Though I'm definitely not giving you (or anyone who asks for it) any.

You need to earn merits by posting something that others will find valuable to the forum.

Same thing applies with trust. You won't get any of that by asking for it either. Well theoretically I'm wrong - you'd probably end up with a red tag instead :D

I have tried to find a connection between the two accounts, but was unable to do so. Therefore, either:
a) They are alts, but they did their best to avoid a simple connection.
b) The merit was purchased/sold.
c) Something else.
