Title: Require a loan of ETH for a few days. Collateral is BCH and BTC
Post by: alia on February 12, 2018, 07:56:54 AM
I am applying for an IEO where the number of tokens is limited. The people who deposit the most ETH into the exchange will receive a discount on tokens. For a few days days, I need as much ETH as I can get to be in the top 100 depositors.

I can give 8 BCH and a couple BTC as collateral (1-2, up to 10 if my limits increase)

Please add me on Skype (live:aliaarmelle)

I am looking to pay 1% monthly interest in case I borrow it for longer, maximum term 30 days

Is this tied to fiat currency?

No fiat involved.

Assuming a proper amount of BCH/BTC are provided as collateral, this is fairly low risk for any lender. Perhaps 1% is a bit low, but it makes sense given the riskiness of this loan.

Yeah 1%. I can give well above the loaned amount, collateral is VERY stable coins. Literally zero risk for lender

Yeah, I think it's very reasonable if you are just holding a quantity of ETH and it's not doing anything for you. For instance, I would do it with BTC if someone offered me ETH collateral, because I'm getting interest on my otherwise inactive BTC and I don't need to worry about it. The high interest rates that have become the norm here should reflect the amount of attention and work required to maintain the provided collateral, and with low-liquidity altcoins the lender does have to pay attention to the collateral and make inquiries to the borrower to top it up if the price gets into shaky territory.

Anyways, best of luck. It seems like the demand for ETH loans here has become pretty significant lately. Sadly I still don't have any.  :P

Could someone kindly enlighten me as to how this works? Why would someone borrow ETH when they hold greater collateral in another coin which they could just sell on an exchange for ETH?

Because the coin could rise in value after selling it and they would lose money re-entering into it when they are finished their business with ETH.

I would accept using OgNasty or blazed. I would ask that you cover the escrow fees/costs associated with the transaction.

I want to follow up about this. I have stopped lending out a portion of my funds elsewhere so I have sufficient funds to fund this loan.

If this is no longer needed, please let me know so I can resume lending out funds that I would use for this loan on other platforms.

Thanks.

My offer has expired.

The lack of any kind of followup is unprofessional, and I won't be offering to lend out my funds for these types of requests from you in the future.

Sorry. I thought it was an assumed fact that nobody should do business with you (people warned me about you colluding with certain escrowers), and your trust warnings are pretty much a dealbreaker. My apologies, just thought it was obvious

You should try to find an example of $1 being stolen/scammed by me. I guarantee that you cannot.

I would also like to know who was warning you and what they were saying. If they were being less than honest, which I suspect they were, I would want to call them out on that.

I don't think it's my place to reveal that - although, I can't imagine that all 200+ of your negative trust-givers were wrong about you.
