Title: Receiving Airdrops
Post by: camport on February 12, 2018, 01:46:47 PM
When receiving airdrops do you need to fill in a contract address to receive them or will it be automatically go through to my MEW address?

I have seen many different ways it is done, not 1 single way.

For example :

DeepOnion - Every week, you need to meet the minimum criteria and be a Jr. Member or better on Bitcoin talk, post on both forums etc..
TRX - Was just a random drop in to different accounts.
SingularDTV - they did one where they sent a different token to people who were holding SNGL and it was just a decision they made, no previous info.

Have a read in to specific coins you want and see if they offer it, otherwise just support projects you like by owning tokens and then see what happens.

When they send token, the token will automaticaly go to your balance. You can check what token you have by check it at ethplorer or etherscan. No need to put the contract address in myetherwallet. That thing only need to be done if you want to check it there and send it to other wallet.

follow the rules that exist on airdrop .. each airdrop there are different terms and conditions.
if airdrop support erc 20, and you do not see it in mew then you must to enter costum token in myetherwallet,
select add token> input contract> input symbol> input decimal then save.

It depends on the airdrop you are joining in. For some, you need just to give them your address and they will send it automatically to myetherwallet when their airdrop is done. In some cases, you need to post or retweet on Twitter like how it has been for others. For some you'll have to do task or join their telegram channel. For some few ones, they do it randomly on users.

Te best way to have a good probability of receiving airdrops is:
1) follow the rules
2) be quick... There are so many people that will subscribe.

The most important aspect to airdrops is just reading and following all of the instructions.  Make sure you sign up early, perform any and all specific tasks that are required for the air drop and make sure you have a way for them to get your coins to you.  The airdrops that I have been a part of, are coins with their own QT wallets and you have to send them your address to be receive the coins.  Are you having an issue with a particular coin that you think you should have been airdropped?  If so, post it and maybe we can help you figure out what is going on.

Getting airdrops depends on the rules they will provide to receive their airdrop coin. You have to check their  post on the thread or any social media that they announced. If still in confuse, don't hesitate to ask the person in-charge.
