Title: Looking for someone who is willing to give me a long term loan, and advice
Post by: nicholasd on September 13, 2013, 01:24:26 PM
Hey guys, I'm looking to get more into Bitcoins. I have been lurking for ages now, and have bought and sold at all the wrong times.

What im looking for is someone to get me on my feet, And I can pay back a loan monthly. I get paid USD at the end of every month. It's not huge, but i'm not looking for a huge loan, just something to get me started and make it so i don't need to save for 3-4 more months before I can do the following.

What i'd like to do is be able to buy a small Mining setup, Literally a tiny one. Like 6 Block Erupters and a Hub. $166 - About 1.5 bitcoins

In addition to this I'd like to have a bitcoin or so to trade with and make a profit.
Say 2 Bitcoins for a small mining setup
2 Bitcoins to trade in BTC-E at a slow, safe pace. I'm constantly online as I run websites in another niche.

And that's my request. If anyone is willing to help me get a foot in the door, and having someone on my side that knew more than I did would be great. I could pay back this 4Bitcoins at a rate of 1bitcoin a month. First payment at the end of October. No bs, nothing like that. I would even do work in exchange for the bitcoins in the form of PHP,SQL,Javascript,HTML or CSS.

Collateral?
We have no proof that you got money every month. And even if you do, we have no proof that you are willing to pay back. And even if you do, we have no proof that you will. And even if you do, we have no proof that you will do it until the end of the loan.

I am not sure that it is a good idea to invest in mining equipment, which seems kinda late and probably not even profitable.
I am not sure that it is a good idea to invest for trading, where you clearly have no experience / skills whatsoever, and bitcoin market is highly volatile and unpredictable.

I have a verified paypal since 2004 or so. And a photo ID/ Debit card statements.

It may not be the smartest move, But i want to get a foot in the door. If it didn't end up earning me money I would still pay back at the rate agreed upon from my personal funds.

Without collateral, I don't see this happening. Your best bet is work for it and wait until you get money in hand and buy the coins.

But if you default the loan, what would we have? An ID of you (which might have been found online), and a credit card statement that we can't use?

Cosmic karma! I really would pay it back. Just trying to get a foot in the door faster than my normal funds would allow. Hoping someone could throw a ladder down, the rope burns. But i do understand what you guys are saying.

Good luck. You might find someone who is willing to take the risk.

Lol, as soon as I saw the 'cosmic karma' thing that was my exact thoughts.

nicholasd, if you have been lurking here for a bit what makes you think someone would do this? The only reason I can think anyone would ask for a loan on here without some kind of collateral is that they are a scammer. You are asking someone to lend you $540 on blind faith alone.

The amount of scamming that happens here is crazy. My advice for a would be loan requester like yourself is to ask this question. Would I do this loan if I had the money available. I'm pretty sure that if you were honest with yourselft eh answer would be no.

I'm not sure if you can delete the thread yourself but I know you can lock it. That way it can slowly sink away.

Well, this doesn't reassure me at all. Why should I lend money to someone with a track record of losing it?

Yes, let's exaggerate.  It's a stupid move..  You have no collateral?  You should always have a collateral, for this loan, get it to be around $200 in BTC.  And why don't we just by the mining hardware ourselves?

That would be great! Maybe it would work well with someone that is trying to sell there extra Block Erupters. I could make the first payment at the end of this month via PayPal if someone wanted to help me get them and we could setup an automated payment on paypal. That would be an awesome foot in the door faster than expected.

And the reason being I could pay it back over a longer term, but with some interest so it's worth it for the lender. Just like how a normal loan would work i'd imagine.
