Title: I'm looking for a decade(s)-old article about cryptography that anticipated BTC Post by: RangerK on September 13, 2013, 01:44:50 PM I'm putting together a presentation about bitcoins for a conference and I wanted to cite this article. I remember reading it and though I had saved it, but I can't find it. Maybe someone can help.
The article was written in the 80s or 90s. Perhaps even in the early 2000s. It was a discussion of crypto. The author, who is now deceased, claimed to have sources in the NSA who knew crypto would eventually defeat them and even be incorporated into a currency. The only other thing I remember is that the article was pretty long. Any ideas? thanks! The audience will be more economists and libertarians than techies. ps -- My guess is that the NSA is NOT behind bitcoin. They've simply had the best cryptographers money could buy for decades, and those guys recognized the potential.
