I'd like to see if there are any people around here interested, or at least get in touch with Bitcoin locals. Let me know if you have a list of people who are interested, and you can put me on it.

Not much, I know, but I wanted to start small and learn. I'm thinking of buying something faster like an Antminer S1. I am involved in a few other MeetUp groups, and I would join one if there were one in Columbus for Bitcoin.

The organizer has since shifted to the founder of CoinNEO who has successfully setup Bitcoin Boulevard in Cleveland Heights.
I hope you can come visit sometime! Next meetup is Thursday night. I'll let you know next time I'm traveling through Columbus in case you want to set something up. I travel to Cincinnati from time to time for business and could add a stop for a meetup. Let me know if there are any good locations to get setup to accept bitcoin.
