Title: Blade Factory Reset
Post by: Chronikka on September 14, 2013, 02:23:43 AM
I have two of the new erupter blades that just arrived in the mail. I've noticed they have some pins sticking out of the side and some of them are labeled "reset" or "factory reset."  I sent an email to asicminer support about it and of course they are not responding. Has anybody successfully performed a factory reset on one of the new blades? If so how did you do it?

Use a paperclip to bridge those two jumpers to perform a factory reset.

Thats what I was going to go with. I just want to see if anybody else did it on a new blade first...I don't want to be the guinea pig  :D

yeah, shorting the pins as shown sets it back to default user id and password, default server address, and default ip address.

So, why do you want to reset it?   ???  Plug them in, set them up and mine bitcoins.

I want to know how to reset it because there is no way to get to the interface if I put in the wrong subnet, ip, etc (like a typo or something). I'm moving shortly and will need to set up my network all over again.

Anyways I tried it because I was bored and it worked just fine...interestingly enough it seems to have increased performance...Overnight its been at a steady 11 Gh/s with 0 rejected shares. Almost 12 hours straight like that. Before the reset it was 10.6-10.7 gh/s with about .5% rejects...It may just be coincidence but its still odd

Yeah I have on the old blades too but this is a different board design and layout. Friedcat actually just posted the new user manual earlier today...but the link was broken when I tried it  ???

Anyways I got it to reset just fine. In case anybody else is looking at this and wondering how to do it specifically on the new blades, its the two pins CLOSEST to the ethernet port. They are labeled as pins 2 and 3.
