Hi all, Chinese New Year will begin on Friday, February 16th, 2018.
There are many interesting things with Neo one of them is when another crypto has an accident, while Neo remains stable and fluctuates as usual as if it doesn't have problems, anyone know why?...

Many rumors say Neo will be a major competitor for Ethereum in the future. Will these predictions come true?...

I want to hear your opinion about Neo (Chinese Ethereum), what do you think will happen with the Neo when the Chinese New Year arrives, will it be bad?...

Bad, if Neo holders sell it for the cost of celebrating Chinese New Year.
Maybe just some people's perception only and in my opinion Chinese New Year has no influence to Neo and other Alt.

why no influence to cryptomarkets.usually trader in their holiday they will sell some portofolio.and no think anymore for a while.better to look neo and altcoin while chinese new year passed.

Surely they sell, but not for all its assets. Because I know Chinese people are very smart in managing finances and I'm sure they have prepared everything to welcome and celebrate the big day.

I honestly figured that Chinese New Year would have some kind of crypto promotion for Chinese alts.

Neo is a runner-up for ETH, but that's old news. You have NULS taking a better spotlight and many other Neo-wannabes.

But I think it's obvious that if you put money on a Chinese alt now, during the Chinese New Year, you'll see an increase in price. It might be small or large, but there'll be some kind of price boost. Good for short-term trading.

Are you taking a rumour seriously? There will be no thing happen with neo China's new year just give a little impact to the majority of crypto and not only neo. It doesn't make sense to see if you are linked the chinese new year with all of these crypto currencies. Only a big rumour if there will be a bad thing for sure. I just think you must try to see how stable the market right now.

Not sure what you mean by accidents here. I'm pretty sure if NEO gets stolen from another hacked exchange, it will suffer the same consequences as other alts or even Bitcoin itself (like how the recent NEM got a huge hit when 10% was stolen from a hacked SKorean exchange).

Also, those are not rumors, those are what the NEO guys are saying and promoting... Chinese Ethereum is a catchphrase for Neo.

Lunar New Year? Hasn't affected any crypto, do other New Years affect other "Western" alts?

NEO is a project that needs to be trusted for a long time. It will definitely win.

Exactly, already government are supporting NEO project, it means there is huge potential for the project. Chinese governments are doing are cryptocurrency market in a different way to become tech giant in blockchain technology.

Well yes that is the least common to happen in their celebration chinese do cash out before the Chinese new year for some charms and to spend for their tradition most of chinese. February is a month for them and will going to be neutralize growth after this days.

I don't think so if there is any connect of NEO to the chinese new year. If there are more events will be announce by NEO, I think it will be also an instance to hike the price of NEO. I also believe to you that NEO is major competitor of ethereum in the future.

The coin is influenced more by the price of bitcoin than the Chinese New Year. As soon as there is confidence in the global growth on the market, all other coins will grow on the news

All alts are influenced by bitcoin price, because they are traded in pair with BTC.
But if you take a look at NEO/BTC price, it is almost all-time high, so it grows well enough.

at this time of the year, sell offs are expected, not only in crypto but in the stock market as well. I don't think that's a bad thing for NEO only since it affects the whole market. just let it pass and hopefully have a bull run after.

Last year when the ghost month started, price of NEO started to drop, they claim that it is because of Asians specially Chinese follow the ritual of not to buy or invest in any new business during the ghost month, but after the ghost month the price of NEO did not recover and it took quite some time before price went up to where it is today. But now that there are Chinese sanctions and heavy regulation about Crypto, I don't think there will be an impact on NEO. If there will be an impact after the Chinese Lunar New Year, it will not be on NEO alone but on all Altcoins.

Not only with neo, but the entire cryptocurrency community is expecting the Chinese new year celebration. In particular bitcoin and ethereum. I don't find big chance for NEO rather than bitcoin and ethereum. When the top listed bitcoin and ethereum grow automatically neo too will grow.

Analysts believe that in the mid or late 2018, these cryptocurrencies will increase in value. Of course, it's hard to say that crypto will grow in 2018 and whether they will grow at all, and if they will - to expand its rise, but from our point of view cryptocurrency is quite promising. chinese new year I think will not affect the coin Neo

yes, NEO is the altcoin that became my investment target from the beginning. NEO has a good development, able to stabilize when bitcoin prices down, and market prices are destroyed.

I see in china new year the price of NEO will go down, but it does not go down drastically.
I like the NEO. maybe at the end of the year will be a competitor BCH and ETH.

Hey, did you got some "free bucks (hong bao?)" in every Chinese new year before? In my country, chinese ppl giving out money every new year.

I think the growth of the crypto-currency market will not yet be held all the holidays, that is, until the end of February. In spring, we expect growth. NEO will grow by 1.5-2 times!

Said it in other threads, no ones going to sell on a holiday, they will do it leading up, and if we look today there are no signs of any worry.
If they go quiet over the month this may slow things, but this whole idea of a big pull out I can't see happening.

Some people are misleading the market in order to buy the NEO at the Dips. People already understand the potential of NEO in the market and it is consolidating at the 100 -112$ in between. NEO previous high is nearly 190$, so there is the chance that price of NEO will increase to 300$ in the next pump.

I feel like situation with chinese pumps already ended after chinese government's regulations against crypto. I am prepared to see some dumps for sure but it won't be market crash or anything like that.

Everybody who's selling crypto assets just to celebrate one thing or another is a small fish and can't move the price with an inch!

yes absolutely the price of NEO will bost before chinese new year but it will drop after like what happened on bitcoin price after the celebration which is the Christmas and new year,  so IMO perhaps the journey of NEO is a temporary and it will not pump after.

I agree neo will be main competitor but not in the near future, ethereum will stay as a leader probably for the next 3-4 years. But competition is really good for the market.

i do not see if neo will deteriorate in china new year. this happens because neo has a stable price and is not significantly affected by the fall in prices in cryptocurrency. so chinese new year may have a significant but not too big effect for this neo coin.

While all these alts are crashing NEO has remained relatively stable. Strong demand for this coin both in China and other parts of the world means that it will always increase. Ethereum is struggling now with a bloated blockchain which is getting slower and more expensive to use. NEO is the best alternative at the present time with successful ICOs being delivered on it's blockchain. This may change when LISK is released later this year (another ethereum competitor)

Anchor is altcoin which I highly appreciate after bitcoin and ethereum. Neo coin received great support from many investors in the world and especially China so it was called ETH of China. In the near future there are many ICO projects developed on the NEO platform, which is the opportunity for it to grow very strongly this year.

I will go down but look to buy after the dip. Correction at the start of March? Check the Chinese stock markets last year to see a similar pattern or not.

Dont understand why people think the Chinese sell up for New Year, is there evidence of this?  Do Westerners sell assets for Christmas/Newyear holiday?  No so why assume others do.  The difference is they wont buying as they are busy eating and drinking  :D  So if you hold, it makes not much difference. 

Too much fud in crypto is made by ourselfs, expecting irrational actions, then acting in response when the action has not happened, but doing so make something happen.  It will be westerners *fearing* a sell off that causes a sell off.

My take on this is that Chinese people will start buying NEO during and after the Chinese New Year. As you can see, there's already an uptrend signal in NEO's chart these past few days and I certainly think that this will continue for quite some time. Though I don't have any concrete proof, it is evident in their market history (I'm talking about Chinese people here) that they shell out money to their investment activities after Chinese New Year as they believe such thing will provide good luck to them.  ;D

I don't think Chinese New Year will make too much of a difference in Neo's price. I think it'll just follow the general trend of the market.

I thought Chinese new year is supposed to REKT $BTC. Guess I was wrong.

Reason why they think Chinese New Year will BTC down further is because they thought Chinese BTC holder will dump or at least convert a portion of their BTC so that they have something to spend for celebrating Chinese New Year, but it may have a little affect, look at where it is few days ago and look at how much is BTC now that its almost Chinese New Year.

Oh, guys, if it happens I will be glad to get more BTC and NEO. Now I prepare some money for this and wait only when it dumped. Now every dump you can use to get more interesting coins. That's all

I hope after Chinese New Year holiday we see a unique rally from NEO. I don't have much expectations about general rally but in particular NEO can grow value. Chinese investors can do this. Any value less than 150 USD is good to buy for me.


It may make its own move, because of new ICO's in NEO blockchain.

I don't see the relationship between NEO and the Chinese New Year. I do not believe that the Chinese New Year can influence the crypto market. It seems to me that this is just an invention of those people who wanted to find the reason for the market fall.

Of course there is NEO this coin is majority is dominated by china residents including ethnic Chinese, so NEO grow as No.1 coin in china.
Lunar New Year celebrated by Chinese people including ethnic Chinese and that's when NEO found a decline in value up to 0.9% -1.1%.
