Title: ASUS TUF Z270 Mark 2 and running more than 3 GPUs
Post by: cryptocalypso on February 14, 2018, 05:25:03 AM
Can't for the life of me get this motherboard to run more than 3+ GPUs on Windows 10 64 bit. Have a total of 6 Rx 580s and 1 Rx Vega 56. Currently mining Eth with 2 of the Rx 580s and the 1 Vega 56.

Spent the night changing the bios over to Gen 1 and Gen 2 while having 4G Encoding enabled. Still no luck. Also tried the route of adding cards individually and the most I can get to show up under Device Manager is 3 cards. Currently running 2 cards that are directly plugged directly into pci lanes while one other is on an riser. I've tested the risers and all work.

If anyone has used this mobo and had some results would GREATLY appreciate any input. Thanks.

try:
1. check your virtual memory.
2.Download latest Bios and also update your chipset and IME.
3. Reset your CMOS

by the way

1. how about your PSUs Wattage?
2. Are you mod the bios cards?

I'm using the same motherboard over multiple rigs (not updated any bios)
Only these settings are required

Advanced mode (F7) -> "Boot" section -> set "4G Decode" to ENABLE.
Under "Boot" -> set FAST BOOT to DISABLE.
Under "Advanced" -> Onboard Devices Configuration -> set HD AUDIO CONTROLLER to DISABLE.
Under "Advanced" -> PCH Configuration -> set PCI-E Link Speed to GEN2.

Good Luck..

Thanks for the response. Looks like i'll need to downgrade the bios since one of the first things I did was update the bios.

This post help me a lot.
I was trying bring up my four MSI GTX 1080 TI Gaming X Trio (connect with riser), but it was a impossible mission, until now... I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cd1qoTAHmA and this post, but the cards was not recognized. Then I restart my Windows Server 2012 about five times and, wait, WTF, the GPUs were recognized in device manager... 205 MH/s minig Ethereum ...

Sometimes, randomly, one card turn down, and I am forcing reboot the system. Anyone with this problem?   o/
