Title: How are ICO token prices calculated?
Post by: studstur on February 14, 2018, 08:57:06 AM
I was under the impression that the price of an ICO’s token was calculated by the total amount raised (in fiat) divided by the total number of tokens sold during the event. However, as I’ve been doing research, this does not seem to be the case a majority of the time. Is the token price simply decided by the project or is there a mathematical why of figuring it out using token metrics? Thanks!

In general, the initial funds raised by the project party are the initial pricing of tokens.
But after the exchange, this token will show real value.

This time the majorioty of the token price alreayd decided by the project itself. The team are putting fixed price to the coin. But there is no need to do a mathematical for this case.
But the market will try to decide the real price of token after that has already listed on the exchange site.

The project teams decide an ico prices for their token in the beginning. According to cap they need and token supply. After ico traders decide the prices on exchanges.

The price falls when entering the stock exchange often, because many people, who bought at Preico, want to fix profits and participate in the new project. After that, if the project does have a good business model and team, the token price increases.
