Title: Newbie from the UK
Post by: ads2003uk on September 16, 2013, 11:07:35 AM
Hi all,

Started the mining to pass bordem after an opperation. A few months passed and I'm proudly sitting on 1 FreiCoin but no where near on the LiteCoin, FeatherCoin, NovaCoin or BitCoin.

How many UK miners are here. (Maggie Thatcher is dead now so you can all speak up <---- that will also give an age indication aswell)

This is really a post just to say hi and so I can go and ask a Hardware related question.

Hi, I'm in the UK and have never been a member of the NUM or the Conservative party.

You have a hardware question?

Ahhh someone older than 30 :D

Yeah - I will post it in the Hardware section once access is improved as the n00b section isnt really meant for it..

Not related to the Hardware question I have, but I have just managed to use an ebay sniffer and got a New ASIC Miner Erupter USB for £27 are they actually any good?

Thought at £27 not a bad price compared to some of the gadgets I've got like the £200 Electronic Barcode reading bin.

35 here. wish I got into this a year ago when my geeky mate was raving about it. Instead I was/still am doing the Freebie Referral sites.

Looking at the "rigs" people have created & made is mind blowing.

Hello!  I'm not from the UK...and I'm also a newbie!  What do you mean by "any good."  Sure, you can set them up, and they will mine a little itty bit of bitcoins, I just set up 4 (I got them for free from a friend) and have been mining for about a day now.

What return are/have you got from the 4 of them?

Figure somewhat less than 0.002 BTC per day per Block Erupter.

Edit: I'm mining SRC with a laptop CPU, various altcoins with a laptop GPU, and Bitcoin with a BE, and oddly all work out to give almost exactly the same 0.0018-.002 BTC return per day.

keep mining on a laptop and youll need a new one before you make 0.5BTC.... laptops arnt made to run things like mining it literally cooks them from the inside....

From the UK and feeling kinda young in my mid 20's XD and mining for over a year now..
currently sitting on 12Ghash worth of mining toys :D
