Ive been running my GTX 1080 for over a year with +20% power/+100/+1000 mining equihash. It mines a good 20 hours out of the day, I only shut it of in the evenings if I am on the computer. So far I have seen no issues whatsoever with running it this hard. I also have 1070s running like this for over a year as well so I wouldnt think you would cause any damage as long as you keep temperatures in check.

That's honestly to low temp and i am sure your card could live for long. .
As of now i have 1070  dual and 1080ti the differences is my temp in 1070 is more higher than 1080ti super jetstream so i set my clock lower in 1070 just to keep the temp around 65c just to be sure that my cards can live and run 24/7
Also to increase the life of your cards always clean your cards every month use blower to clean it because it gives more heat in your card..

Well they still dosent have this "Grey" thing im using them around half year already and the reason i got low temps they are placed in my grow rom humidity might be too big which is 55% But we will see ;P
Also do you guys have any clue what's asus gtx1080 nist5 speed?

the speed should be above 50 Mh, it is not profitable to mine now, try the neoscrypt

I know when you set at +20% the card becomes hot and you'll smell something like melting plastic or rubber, especially if you're mining Ethereum. So, if I overclock all my graphics cards will they not be damaged? Well, you know graphics cards nowadays are too expensive and hard to find.

Also, may I know the required or safe temperature (°C) for the CPU and graphics card?

I have a maximum of 75°C, more than a year in this mode

As long as you keep your card temperature below 65 degree celsius, you can overclock it to the max, it won't damage your card. The biggest damage a graphic card can receive is from excessive heating. Although Nvidia says that temperature limit is 95 degree celsius, that is only in theory. In practice I have seen so many burned Gtx 970 from my experience working as an IT, all because of excessive heating.

Wow! What about the CPU, is it also 75°C? I'm using Intel Core i7 and once it reaches over 60°C I immediately set the CPU core to 3. So, running all my cards over 60°C would be safe enough. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for sharing... it's great knowing those things for newbies in the mining field like me.

My cpu have 60-65°C i5-7700, on here mining yescrypt on 3 cores

Besides upping temperatures overclocking also increase Power consumption. At some level of overclocking the increase of hashrate may no longer be worth the increased Power consumption, especially if you pay high price for electricity or if you are maximizing Power supply capacity or are close to blow the fuses in the building. Increased heat also requires more cooling.

Since NVIDIA has a less tweaker friendly, one of my friend using the physical tweaker on 1070 Ti, something like jumper technic on GPU board using solder but I don't really understand what he was doing.

Hahah, then your i7 got less than a year left on its lifespan.

Do not underestimate the overheat, you might not know when, but anytime can be a breaking point.
@OP The Overclock will not break your GPU, but the heat (your Sensors might be inaccurate) or the overclock settings.
The most PGU breaking mis-configuration is the over-voltage setting, the GPU might be stable with a setting but, its down-insides has problems.
