Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: Adamlm on September 18, 2013, 03:37:44 PM Currently it's only an idea, but I believe it could be done. You will be able to create your personal smartphone from blocks, only those you need. Need a stronger battery but don't need a camera? OK, just add a larger battery block. And so on.
Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: pedrog on September 18, 2013, 03:39:39 PM Pretty damn cool!
Anything on the operating system? Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: saif313 on September 18, 2013, 03:50:41 PM from where we have strong batteries currently all around very low and bad
Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: b!z on September 19, 2013, 01:38:31 PM Keep dreaming, it's never going to happen. Companies make a lot of money off overpricing things like internal memory etc
$150 for 16GB internal memory is terrible compared to $15 for a micro sd card :) Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: Xenoph0bia on September 19, 2013, 01:42:46 PM It could work, but the phones will be ugly and only geeks may buy.
Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: giveaway on September 19, 2013, 01:49:23 PM Awesome idea! It wont get supported by a network like verizon! but im sure it could be supported by a sim card!
Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: Don007 on September 19, 2013, 02:31:30 PM The Dutch inventor hasn't even requested patent on this idea. He said that yesterday on the Dutch television. He doesn't want to make a huge profit with it, he just wants to get rid of the huge electronical waste in the world.

http://www.projectara.com/agenda/ Would be cool to dev a bitcoin mining phoneblok module or a Trazor hardware wallet module. Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: softron on April 04, 2014, 06:17:46 PM Nice concept
Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: techgeek on April 04, 2014, 06:20:19 PM Very cool, but wouldnt Apple buy this up? or some huge phone company?
Just to crush it out of existence. I guess it hasnt gotten enough attention to their eyes. Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: shinae23 on April 07, 2014, 03:52:59 AM This was in the social media for a while ..
I just love the concept . Not all people like the phone there bundle up with But with phone blocks it's like a PC that you can adjust to your liking.. Looking forward to this In the future Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: 300 on April 07, 2014, 05:40:00 AM Looks kind of boring-looking. Like a gray brick. Maybe if they could put it in a fancy case like they do with gaming PCs today and the insides could consist of blocks instead. That way it would be just like our current computers except in miniaturized form.
Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: zolace on April 07, 2014, 12:23:01 PM Great concept and excellent video explaining it. People want to customize and this allows them to do just that. There's no reason why there can't be open standards for platform hardware development like with personal computers. When people build PC's they can choose a motherboard in an ATX form factor from any number of companies, why shouldn't the same be true for a smart phone?
Title: Re: Phonebloks Post by: Rampton on April 07, 2014, 12:45:52 PM Looks cool but I'm not sure if it'll work as good as they hope.
